We're deeply dependant on technology, carrying our cell phones and laptops wherever we go. With the convenience it offers it's hard to consider the negative impact that technology has on our health. Here's how a smartphone addiction might do you more harm than you think:

Smartphone anxiety: Feeling stressed? Experts have found a link between cell phone usage and stress. People are constantly checking their phones to see if they've received a text message or an email, causing anxiety. Put your phone on silent mode or turn it off and check it only every few hours.

Acne: Your cell phone is always covered in bacteria that cause oils when your screen is placed against your face. This results in acne on your chin and neck. Use your speakerphone or a headset during long phone conversations.

Radiation Emission: Users absorb radiation emitted from their phones, but studies have yet to prove if the amount can be
damaging.

Motor Accidents: There's no denying how dangerous it can be to chat or text on your cell phone while drive. It reduces brain activity
and draws focus away from driving. Use a headset while driving, and always make sure to keep both hands on the steering wheel.

Back and neck pain: Leaning in to read small font sizes can strain your neck and hunching your back over your laptop cause back and neck pain. Always make sure to sit upright while using your laptop and place your table on a desk while reading.

Reduction of sperm count: Unfortunately for men, heat emitted from the laptop can kill sperm if kept on the lap for too long.

Headaches: You can strain your eyes if you stare at your computer screen for too long which causes migraines and blurry vision.

Sleeplessness: Melatonin is a hormone that helps us sleep. Keeping your laptop close to you can cause the artificial light from your
laptop screen to suppress the release of melatonin. Always switch off your laptop and keep it away from you when you sleep.

Accidents: There have been many cases of pedestrians dying while listening to loud music on their headphones and not hearing vehicle
horns. Unplug your headphones completely while crossing a road.

Hearing loss: Blasting music through your headphones can cause hearing impairment. Always keep the noise below 80 decibels.
