In an effort to guard against contracting the Ebola Virus Disease, a United States-based R&B star, Akon, last Sunday climbed inside an airtight blow-up during a performance in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.

The singer rolled over the crowd, pushed along by the outstretched hands of 60,000 screaming concert-goers while performing at a concert.

The performance was part of a larger free concert held by charity, ‘Peace One Day,’ to help promote and support the United Nations’ International Day Of Peace.

Akon was, however, accused of going to extreme lengths to avoid catching Ebola during a concert in Africa by crowd-surfing inside a giant plastic bubble.

His action was criticised by a section of the media outlets, describing it as a cynical attempt to shield himself from the deadly virus that is sweeping West Africa rather than just being a creative way of performing closer to his fans.

The Source, on its website, however, said, “The Ebola virus is no joke. And to avoid contracting it from anybody, when Akon left the stage to crowd surf with the people that were attending his concert, he did so in a huge plastic protective bubble.

He is distancing himself from his suppose own people as if they are outcast. That is height of distorted reality that be spells Africans at the moment, they are like plagues in the eyes of the world and all due to fundamental ignorance and not understanding why they breath.

Africans in Africa seem like they are more mentality enslaved than some of their western counterparts who are actually the descendants of "slaves", even though they weren't physically enslaved brutally and regimentally by oyinbos like they did we the ones they stole to the west. Why is that? Is it because of colonisation? Could colonisation be that destructive? Could it make a people rootless in their own suppose free land?

Take a step back and look at Akon's history with the giant crowd-surfing bubble. He has used it at numerous concerts in Australia, India, and Dubai, to name a few.
And it's not just Akon — other performers crowd-surf in a similar fashion, such as Diplo, the Flaming Lips, and Sugarland. Akon has yet to comment on the incident. If you still think this was a way for Akon to avoid Ebola, well, we hate to burst your giant bubble, but it's safe to say this was all in fun
