Hi all, now my friend contacted me on facebook and told me his mum wants to buy either of these, that i should advise him.
Tho i know much of what to tell him, but i feel, i need more expert opinions as i have driven neither of those models.

Are u serious or u are just joking. Puff puff and doughnut which one is better? Lexus rx is an upgraded highlander so how can the highlander be better? If u think it is because of the fuel economy I can tell u the difference is negligible.

Bro, don't mind some folks yarning dust about what they only see and haven't owned or driven.

Rx is nothing but Highlander V6 in sleek shape sheet metal and more beautifully crafted interior than the highlander. Both uses same critical components such as Engine, gearbox, 4 wheel drive system, almost same steering feel, suspension (for RX models with spring dampers), fuel lines. And they are swappable (sic).

I am not a fan of Toyota but talking about 2005 models, the Rx 330 beats the highlander hands down.

Totally agree with Lomomike and Lonelydora. Both cars use same engine thus fuel economy is not a factor for comparision. For other interior and exterior parts though, the RX330 may parts may cost more.

The Highlander holds up decently (especially with the Limited trim) and throws in 3rd row option, but the RX is luxury and more starting with the abundant power features (tilt/telescopic streering, liftgate etc). So depends on whether you want it modest (Highlander) or upscale (RX330).

RX 330,

Way better resale value,
Good fuel consumption almost as same as highlander,
Better driving dynamics,
Better luxury appointment,
Same build quality,
Availability of parts.

NB: no genuine toyota part is cheap. Struts for 99 camry from Kyb is minimum 50,000 NGN.

RX330 is actually a toyota highlander. Don't ask me how or why.
