Former Nigeria captain Austine Okocha has refused to blame the
either the Super Eagles or the head coach Stephen Keshi for their 1-0 defeat to Sudan in Saturday’s
Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Khartoum. A ferocious header by striker Bakri Abd Elgadir
in the closing stages of the first half which left goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama no chance ensured the hosts got the better of the
African champions who put every foot wrong in the encounter.
The result means Nigeria now walk a tight rope towards qualifying for the biannual
Africa football showpiece billed for Morocco in 2015.

According to Okocha who lamented via his twitter handle following the Eagles’ defeat to
the Falcons of Jediane, the result was a confirmation that Nigeria football is no where to be found while making a case for the ‘big
boss’ and his players.

"Anyone that blames Keshi or the boys is short sighted. Our football is long dead and gone.
This is just the confirmation”
Okocha tweeted.

[b]Anyone that blames Keshi or the boys is short sighted. Our football is long dead and gone. This is just the confirmation.

The reigning African champions are now placed at the base of the table in Group A with a point from three matches while South Africa
with 2-0 victory over Congo away from home are ranked first with seven points.

Nigeria will welcome Sudan to Abuja in next Wednesday's match as they attempt to revive their now slim chances of reaching Morocco in January.

Just as he himself is long goooooone. who him be sef. what has he contributed to kipping it from going. He seem to exonerate the coach n d players but he did not point out where the "going away" came from. How then do we address a problem without knowledge of the cause. Mr u cant sit on the fence, Make your point n make it clear.

Okocha is very silly with this comment. If football is gone from Nigeria then who do we blame? Me?

You exonerate the coach and players and then you can't point fingers at the appropriate quarters then what's the essence of making such statement?

So football just carried its travelling bag and left Nigeria without anyone sending "it" away?

We should learn to say things as they are. Truth is always bitter but it has to be said.

Keshi messed up big time!!! He should carry all the blame.
Building a team since how many years now? Fielding unfit boys and rookies in every game?

Nonsense.
