Is it safe to buy used phones? What are my options?

1. I need a big screen phone so I can read on the go.
2. It has to be Android so I can do Kindle.
3. I don't want a Tecno.
4. My budget is small.

What can I do? What are my options?

I don't know a lot about phones.

Even used phones get class. I don't think u can afford good used phones at that rate....

Ok. Didn't know. I should make a different budget. By big screen I actually mean any phone that let's you read on the whole screen instead of half of it. So how much should I be looking at?
