2015 Presidency: Buhari declares
Wednesday

Former presidential candidate of the
defunct Congress for Progressive
Change (CPC) General Muhammadu
Buhari, will on Wednesday, formally
declare his interest in the
presidential ticket of the main
opposition party in the country, All
Progressives Congress (APC). The
event will hold at the Eagle Square in
Abuja.

Buhari’s declaration, initially fixed for
last Wednesday, was shelved in order
to give the party’s faithful ample op
portunity to prepare for the Adamawa
governorship election, which has
since been aborted by the judgment
of a Federal High Court in Abuja on
the governorship of the state. Checks
revealed that another presidential
aspirant in the party and incumbent
Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa
Kwankwaso, will make his formal
declaration next week Thursday.

Addressing newsmen at the weekend,
in Abuja ahead of Wednesday’s
event, members of Buhari Support
Group, declared that about 5 million
supporters of the presidential aspi
rant across the country, would grace
the occasion to show fidelity to the
ambition of the APC national leader.
National Secretary of the group,
Mallam Ibrahim Dauda, declared:
“The epoch-making formal
declaration of General Buhari next
week, will witness the unprecedented
attendance of not less than five
million passionate supporters of the
General.

In fact, the Eagle Square is
envisioned to be choked to capacity
and overflowing, as the deluge of
Buhari’s supporters will besiege the
nation’s capital to demonstrate their
love, support and solidarity for the
man whom they regard as the sym
bol of leadership change that the
generality of Nigerians desperately
yearn for.”

Mallam Dauda urged the national
leaders of the APC to ensure that
General Buhari picks the party’s
ticket, as he noted that the former
presidential candidate of the defunct
ANPP and CPC in the presidential
2003, 2007 and 2011, respectively
was the most formidable aspirant in
the APC.

“It is our candid desire and
mission to convince the entire APC
members and supporters in Nigeria
that General Muhammadu Buhari is
indeed, the best presidential
candidate for the APC in the
forthcoming general elections. He
has been tested and trusted; and is
the only APC presidential candidate
that actually has the political clout,
charisma and pedigree to give the
Peoples Democratic Party.” (PDP) a
good run for its money.”
