the university of Benin has just announced the appointment of Professor Osasere Faraday Orunwense as the new substantive vice chancellor of the institution. the announcement was made after a meeting of the governing council of the school chaired by the pro Chancellor senator Effiong Bob.
Professor Osasere was born on 20th June 1954 and attended western boys high school for his post primary education. he therefore proceeded to auchi polytechnic where he obtained a national diploma in civil engineering. he also has several masters ad PhDs from universities outside the country which he obtained mainly by fed govt scholarships.
Professor Osasere had served as rector at the state owned institute of technology and management(IMT) use and has also served as administrator of the ekehuan campus of the university of benin.
he was until his appointment dean faculty of engineering.he takes over from Professor Osayuki Oshodin whose tenure expires on November 2014 on December 1.
