Lagos Business School Reorganises Mba Programme For Competitiveness by Tectono: 2:07am On Oct 15, 2014
As it is always done in Harvard Business School and other high-brow business schools across the globe, Lagos Business School (LBS) has restructured its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme to prepare its students for the increasingly complex business environment and global competitiveness. The new curriculum will improve its competitive edge among regional business institutions. Nigeria Business Review has always been an advocate of self improvement and business peak performance enthusiast.

Commenting on the restructuring, LBS Dean, Dr. Enase Okonedo, said that the demand for management education in Africa would increase astronomically in the next two decades and that LBS was poised to tap into this upsurge. Even though their graduates regularly receive favourable reviews, they strive for continuous improvement in providing the quality management education expected from our institution.

According to the dean, the updated MBA curriculum, effective from September 2015, would improve LBS’ competitive edge among global and regional business schools and would prepare Africa’s best minds for promising careers with local and multinational companies expanding their operations in emerging markets such as Nigeria, and equip them with an entrepreneurial mindset to make an impact in industry.

He went further to say that the business environment was more complex now and managers required new skill sets for agile and nimble thinking, not just in Nigeria but throughout Africa and around the world.

Also, the MBA Director, Uchenna Uzo, said the new set of participants of the programme would have a strong foundation based on their real-life experiences. According to him, the restructuring would give them a firm basis upon which to apply sophisticated lessons and challenge their classmates and professors in the process, for the mutual benefit of all involved.

With the restructuring, applicants will now have a minimum of three years’ post-qualification work experience, just as the programme duration has been reduced to 18 months. Hitherto, the programme lasted for 21 months.
