PHARMACISTS, under the aegis of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), have congratulated for Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, on the occasion of his 80th Birthday even as they appealed for immediate release of kidnapped former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Barrister Okey Wali.

The PSN in a letter to Gowon Friday and signed by its President, Olumide Akintayo, said: “On behalf of the National Executive Committee, Council and the entire members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, I wish to felicitate with you and your family on the occasion of your 80th birthday.

“Your Excellency, the various strategies you have put in place to engender peace and stability of our nation in the post civil war era continues to be a source infectious enthusiasm to Nigerians of my generation.”

On the appeal for the release of Wali, the PSN, in a statement, Friday, said: “We are compelled to join forces with well-wishers who have been appealing for the immediate release of Barrister Okey Wali,SAN, immediate Past President of the Nigeria Bar Association who was reported kidnapped last Saturday October 11, 2014 around Rumuologu Road, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

“It is important we remind the kidnappers that Barrister Okey Wali,SAN is not a money bag, but only a practitioner of law who excelled in practice and logically can make ends meet after attending to all the basic needs of his family.”
