The Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, spokesperson, Rotimi Fasakin, has said that some of the people who died in the 2011 post election violence were not university graduates participating in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps.
fashakin-e1356098879940-341x300In 2011, immediately after the presidential election, some electorates, mostly CPC supporters took to violence to express their dissatisfaction with the election result. In the process, at least 50 people including nine serving corps. members in the state were killed,


The nine corps members were Adewumi Seun (Ekiti), Teidi Tosin (Kogi), Adowei Elliot (Bayelsa), Okpokiri Obinna (Abia), Gbenjo Ayotunde (Osun), Ukeoma Chibuzor (Imo), Nwazema Chukwuonyerem (Imo), Adeniji Jehleel (Osun) and Akonyi Sule (Kogi).

In continuation of PREMIUM TIMES interview series, Mr. Fasakin, speaking as regards the violence that erupted, said “some so called (NYSC) members were murdered, but in actual fact some of these people are IT consultants”.

He said his party traced one the victims through his facebook page and found out that “he graduated from UNN in 2006 where he studied computer science and is also a manager at a computer firm in Lagos.”

But lets get some things clear...... With all these killings, violence and history hanging over Buhari's neck, it must be freezing over in hell before buhari can preside over a non-violent and peaceful Nigeria. His emergence will open up lots of wounds we've tried to heal in the past. The outcome will just be clear anarchy. But thanks to God, he will only cry come Feb 2015.

I don't know Buhari in person but I can feel your hatred for him, old wounds you say?, this is the more reason I and my folks will vote Buhari.
Bloody hypocrites, PDP must learn the hard way, '' how to play the game by the rule'' and not to deviate from the original plan.

I thought we were talking about water-boarding but I'll still join in the new discussion nevertheless. Amnesty international who criticized Nigeria for killing insurgents (the method by which they were killed was very wrong by the way) refused to criticize Isreal for bombing children in Gaza.

The terrorists deserved to die, but they should have been tried and executed in a decent manner.

Back to topic...Buhari has never sympathized with the family of those killed in 2011. Imagine if your sibling was killed in that attack. The most annoying part of all was that, GMB won all the Northern states yet they went about killing people.

We have law and the court. If anyone is caught engaging is terrorist activities, the right thing to do is Arrest the person (except in a case where the person resists arrest and endanger the lives of the security agents), charge them to court, present evidence against them, and the court will make pronouncements base on the evidence presented.

If we support our soldiers to be carrying out the same cruelty the Boko members are doing - then what difference are they from the Boko Haram Terrorists?

And is we suspend our Laws for our Soldiers, then there will not even be any Law to condemn the terrorists. While the War on Terror must be fought with all seriousness, we must make sure we do not also become what we are fighting.
