This poem is dedicated to my late father. EPITAPH An epitaph is a brief poem inscribed on a tombstone praising a deceased person, usually with rhyming lines. Example: Here lies humble heart daddy Who died while smiling himself witty. He held me softly Thence closes his eyes gently. He promised to take me see movies Whence I have pass my worries. Now that nature shimmer He ended up six feet under. Note: An epitaph is short and usually with rhyming lines. Write yours... Oreoluwa She was only seven Starry eyes bright Like tinted heaven Four digits shoved I remember, Into that bitty mouth She stared with wonder Whilst I gently tugged Her fingers out All that energy While greeting me Almost knocked my frame over Down to my knees Her Clasping hugging glomps Her Signature finger chomps Her Wild honey eyes Her Childish gummy smiles Oremi, Sleep well My baby... As your parents mourn And spirit groans We’ll all keep you In our hearts Even as you depart May the Almighty Strengthen us To be Mighty Our reunion will be glorious 2 Likes |
