Until he mounts the podium and do the needful, it does not count. Nigerians are are tired of Jonathan's future tense "Will", "To", "May", etc. These are all the same delay method he has been using. Contest or Not, Jonathan is going home. 1 Like |

egift: Every incumbent President around the world seeking re-election prefers the campaign period and hence the silly season to be as short as possible and this is why they tend to start their campaigns last! They also have a day job to do which is running the country! I expect GEJ to declare just before the deadline! He has no real benefit to declare early! He is the incumbent President! |

mekaboy:Okotie and Utomi cannot garner enough votes. This is not Buhari's fault. Most (99%) of what you wrote is rubbish. I'll comment on a few. Gej is worried. In fact, very worried of a Buhari candidacy. The same people that helped him win are the same people now in Buhari's camp+Buhari has his own loyal followers= GEJ is having serious nightmares! Yes, if Buhari had a choice he wouldn't have anything to do with the likes of Tinubu, but this is politics, if he loses again, people like yourself will ask why he didn't align with them. Buhari is not a saint, no man is, but Buhari is not corrupt, that much I can vouch for. I think what will happen in a Buhari Govt--- from inside sources I can't quote--- is to not focus all the fight of 4yrs on past issues, but to dedicate it to economic progress and social development and set a framework whereby future incidents of "theft of Govt property by Government officials" will be strictly clamped down upon and the stiffest penalties possible given out to serve as a deterrent in the future. Basically, if a Buhari/Fashola presidency is what Nigerians vote for next year, it will most likely be a case of "Go and sin no more" for most of the past crooks. Focus will be on new ones, recidivists, those that continue their nefarious activities, including the most serious offenders of the past. This will: help avoid the court calendars being clogged; turning the cases into spectacles; and ensuring that --upon conviction-- the fairest and stiffest sentences are pronounced on those that have been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Nigeria is headed for a new dawn if she does the right thing next year. P.S: you are a GEJ supporter, stop lying. |
