Covenant University Expels Thirteen Students by Nobody: 3:28pm On Oct 27, 2014
On saturday morning, the students woke up only to be summoned to an emergency meeting at the school chapel. Everyone was curious about the purpose of the unusual gathering. After some minutes, the gathering was declared open with an opening prayer from the school chaplain. The Registrar, in a long speech bemoaned the moral decadence that is continually becoming evident in Nigerian youth. Becuase covenant university, according to him, is the birthplace of kings, queens and next generation of African leaders, he emphasised that such vices had no place in the school that is destined to be one of the best Universities in the world. So on counts of possession and usage of hard drugs, 11 500 level students and a 300 level student were summarily expelled. On counts of possession and sale of pornographic materials, a 300 level student was indefinitely suspended. All students have the right to appeal the judgements.

Funny enough you Ignored the fact that CU is one of the few Universities in Nigeria that is actually trying to innovate. If CU were really dashing out GP's, how is it that the First class students from here are always topping the PRESSID list. I think you should commend CU for being one of the few Universities in Nigeria that gives students the GP's they deserve other than reducing a student's GP on frivolously cooked up excuses. On a final note, I think other universities should take note and crack down on drug usage and proliferation in Nigerian Universities, we need sane minds to rule this country in the future. Thank you.
