Nigeria wasn't the first Nation in the
world, especially in Africa to be faced or hit with
the virus, EVD (Ebola Virus Disease) or EVH
(Ebola hemorrhagic fever), but certainly, the first
nation to overcome it in the shortest time. Some countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have been battling this EVD
outbreak that has killed more than 4,500 people
in West Africa even before it surfaced in Nigeria.
On the 20th October, 2014, Nigeria was officially
declared by the World Health Organization
(WHO)as Ebola free country after six weeks with
no new cases.

Why cant we fight corruption like we fought Ebola

Hmmm. Despite the fact that most citizens of our great country tend to lament over corruption we all, subconsciously, hope to be in the position to loot our nations funds or pray that someone close to us, probably a family member will find a way to the top and thus elevate the rest of the family from whatever mediocre level they are in.

Also without corruption majority of business people won't be able to inflate prices of their goods or services for no reason. One wouldn't be able to oppress one's neighbour simply because he can bribe the police and get out of whatever issue one's in @ the moment.

Directly or indirectly, Nigerians actually feel they are beneffiting from corruption even though that is not the case. The average mentality of a Nigerian is he is comfortable as long as he has enough money in his pocket, even though he doesn't have access to 24hrs power supply, good roads, quality healthcare, top and updated education, security etc. And what better way can you hit millions unless you are corrupt either at the government level or where you work and exploit customers, clients, the whole country just to make your family live comfortably. And as long as that is achieved, fffuuuccckkk everyone else.

Ebola on the other hand threatened the very notion that one might actually be able to get to the top and thus gain the opportunity to loot just as all our past leaders have done by bringing quick and unprecedented death.

That's how I see it
