African Military Commanders[both Positive And Negative Forces]. by MikeCZAR: 10:23pm On Oct 28, 2014
These are the African men and women who have or had an impact(negatively or positively) on battles fought inside or outside the continent.

With that said, hopefully people will recognise that I am not "glorrifying" war criminals, mass murderers etc

ActivateKruger:

Never heard of her before.
She was the cousin of Joseph Kony, himself the leader of Lord's resistance army.

Her rebel group the Holy spirit movement(HSM), is one of the first if not first rebel group in Northern Uganda to fuse religion in its their ideology. Her followers believed she had super natural powers, as she claimed to be possessed by a spirit(Lakwena) of some dead officer.

At the early stages of the fighting against Yoweri Museveni's army, she presumably could prophecy as to which direction the enemy's attack was going to come.

Marching and fighting in a cross formation during battles, her rebels were stopped at the gates her Kampala. As they couldn't counter artillery. She fled to Kenya and stayed there until her death in 2007, the mention of her name still sends chills down peoples' spines in certain areas of Uganda.

The story of the Acholi people living in Northern Uganda is a sad and complex one, a lot of people blame president Yoweri Museveni for refusing to negotiate with the rebels when they showed their willingness to go to the table.

In turn we all know what happens, when rebels lack resources and man power to fight conventionally. Objectives become increasingly vague,as ideology takes centre stage.

Alot has been written and discussed, about the British empire's territorial expansion into Africa in the 19th century.

Although much distortion went into the presentation of accounts in the 20th century to fit a certain narrative.

Resulting in people only appreciating King Shaka Zulu,as the only finest military commander to ever walk Southern Africa.

Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall apart", while Umuofia and other villages fell without resistance to the colonialists. In reality "Kingdoms fell apart", that in mind i'll be adding a few pictures and artists' impressions of those who fought on both sides:

Defenders and Aggressors.

this are the people i have always talk about. The north Africans were exposed early to European hostilities but they fought gallantly. Although i am kind of disappointed in the disunity among the mamalukes of Egypt that led to the fall of Egypt to the French forces.

Saad El Shezly was the one who orchestrated the crossing of the canal in the first day of the Yom kipur war. Never knew he also fought in WWII. He was still very young when he was chief of staff during the war in october '73. He was latter sidelined and eventually, he lost out in the award ceremony to reward the heroes of the october war.

He was a brilliant officer. I think the october war really restored confidence in the heart of the Egyptians even though they almost lost the war.

40 years on, what does the situation look like between Egypt and Israel? Do you think they will ever go to war again? If they went to war, who do you think will win, judging from their current strength and weaknesses? It seems the two countries have respect for each other now after the war.

Majority of the equipment operated by both Israel and Egypt, come from uncle sam.

And we all know who uncle sam would back during a war.

Both General Ndala(then Colonel) and Major General Bahuma Ambamba are now dead.

Many suspect that there's something sinister behind their deaths.
