Hello House,
I just found an easy way to make Semolina and I will like to share.
Just make the semo as a pate and it shouldn't be too thick, then place it in a microwave for about 4 - 5minutes. Bring it out and turn your semo and it is good to eat.

Same can go for poundo yam, poundo potato, corn meal...

For amala, make a paste in a pot with cold water, put it on fire and stir continuously until it thickens to your desired texture.

For actual pounded yam, cut your yams into cubes, cook until soft. Transfer into a food processor and blend away until soft and fluffy.

I came across these hacks when I had to subject myself to eating garri alone (even though I do not like it all that) as against other swallows. You can make garri in a bowl and wash the bowl immediately after use. Other swallows are made in a pot and those pots have to be soaked before washing (I hate that).
I like these aforementioned methods because I need not bother about soaking and washing my pots at a later time. That is to say, after cooking, my kitchen is neat and without a single dirty cookware to revisit.

Trust me, this hack is not limited to bachelor's alone. Suffering is not an exclusive disposition of women alone.

Lol, I made that silly comment 7 years ago before kids and a whole lot of responsibility landed on my neck. I can't remember the last time I turned semo on fire. What I do now is turn the semo in cold water till all the lumps are dissolved then I put in on low heat till it solidifies.
