Blogging, formerly seen as the art of online
dairying is fast becoming a huge culture in Nigeria
as the social media craze is still in vogue.
Individuals have turned this phenomenon into
businesses, living the dot com lifestyle off their
internet empire and the corporate bodies are not
left out as they also use the blogs to
communicate, interact and engage with their
users and customers.

Some people blog for passion. Others blog
because they want to be seen as masters in their
niche. For some others the aim is fame while for
some they blog because they want to make money
online.

Others have no reason in particular but just blog
because their friends are blogging.
Like every human endeavor that thousands
venture into every day, the blogosphere has its on
success and failure stories too.

However, the individual mentioned in my list of 10
most successful bloggers in Nigeria have been
able to turn their weblogs into what every other
blogger would love to have.

They’ve made a name for themselves in their
various niches and have a tremendous amount of
daily traffic and page views. They’ve become great
influencers on social media but most importantly
get big fat checks of thousands of dollars coming
in month after month as income from their
blogging activities.

I know they’re other successful internet money
makers in Nigeria like Akin Alabi,Sunny
Ojeagbase,Patrick Ogidi,Chude Jidenowo and
the crew at Jobberman, however I’m talking
about real time bloggers(and forum owners) and
not just brands or individuals with a large crew
working for them.

In no particular order, I present to you my list of
10 Most Successful Nigerian Bloggers.
Re: 10 Most Successful Nigerian Bloggers by Fejis32: 11:17am On Nov 03, 2014
1.Linda Ikeji: Linda Ikeji’s blog is unarguably
Nigeria’s most successful blogs. Since I started
following her, I’ve admired her consistency and
ability to bond with the readers which reflects in
the sheer number of large comments she gets.
Linda’s mostly the source breaking news and
scandals we hear the Nigerian entertainment
industry and posts on her blog are just echoed
on other blogs in the same. Her blog is an
advertisement hub for top Nigerian corporate
brands and fashion/beauty product houses. Linda
Ikeji has been recognized in the international
media including the BBC. Her monthly earnings
are not just in thousands of Dollars but in Millions
of Naira as well.

2.Oluwaseun Osewa: Seun’s Nairaland is the
most popular website in Nigeria. According to
Alexa, Nairaland is even more popular than
Twitter in Nigeria. Established as a general forum
when Nigeria’s internet usage was being
awakened, Nairaland has emerged to become a
meeting point for both Nigerians at home and in
diaspora. It is seen as the home version of Digg. It
is a major traffic source for bloggers who use it to
make their blog posts popular. Posts from Seun’s
forum have been featured on Yahoo and in
popular celebrity gossip blog TMZ. Back in the
day, Seun made a huge income from Google
adsense and was successful we hear he turned
down an advertisement request from telecoms
giant MTN. Seun has since scrapped all ads
network and now runs his internal ads by
Nairaland which seems to be more beneficial to
him.

3.Jide Ogunsanya: Jide owns Ogbonge blog, a
technology, reviews and social media tips blog for
the Nigerian audience. His blog won the best
tutorial blog in the 2012 edition of the Nigerian
blog awards. Jide is a microbiologist turned tech
guru. He spends his day working with one of the
big telecoms firms in Nigeria and his nights
writing tutorials on Ogbonge blog. He is the
founder of Blogger’s lab, a Facebook where
Nigerian bloggers meet and discuss. Jide has a
large amount of traffic and is a high earner with
the advertising networks. He has a few other
online businesses that fetch him a reasonable
amount of passive income.

4.Wale Adekile (Don Caprio): He runs the 9Ja
Geek’s Journal which is a tech based blog with a
focus on the international audience. Don Caprio is
also a great programmer and SEO guru. He is also
the designer of Naija Whistle. Don Caprio owns
an MP3 search engine he designed himself. He
does lots of freelance jobs, commands a lot of
respect in his niche and earns in thousands of
Dollars monthly. I like his humble nature despite
being a great internet resource person. He is also
a member of Blogger’s lab.

5.Adesoji Adegbulu: Soji is in the Make money
online niche. He is long time blogger and internet
marketer. Soji uses his wealth of experience to
help startups with their online biz. He makes his
money from sales of online resources.

6.Bamidele Onibalusi is the owner of Young Pre
pro, a name he rightly changed to Writers in
charge. He’s the youngest on this list and a very
successful writer and blogger. What he does is
teach people how to write for traffic and search
engines. He also does freelance writing jobs and
is the only one on this list who employs a group of
qualified professionals to work on his blog. His
earning figures are so enormous I wonder what a
young man does with so much money.

7:Myne Whitman: When this woman first
contacted me, I never knew she’s a Nigerian
because of her foreign sounding name. Anyway
Myne runs a personal blog and another one called
Naija stories where she writes real life stories
and emotional experiences. Myne’s a good who
travels a lot between Nigeria and the U.S. She’s got
a fairly large audience.

8:Tosin Ajibade: This girl has turned Olori
Supergal into a personal brand, attracting
corporate bodies and choice event partners. She
has a lifestyle, fashion and features blog with a
fairly respectable reputation.

9.Chinedu Ned Jamez: This dude owns Free 9ja
music, a music downloads portal. Even though he
sees himself as an upcoming blogger, I see
Chinedu as a trend setter in the Nigerian music
industry. His blog is a great source of Nigerian
music from both the known and upcoming acts.
He was recently acknowledged by Chocolate city,
a highly respected Nigerian music and
Entertainment Company for taking part in the
publicity of M.I’s Google plus hang out.

10.Azeez Makinde: He is called Mankind and is
the owner of popular hangout Naija loaded.
Azeez’s forum is a place for youths who are
interested in technological breakthroughs and
innovations. He recently included a lifestyle and
music promotions section to make the forum
more interesting. Makinde boasts of over 400,000
members on his forum.
