According to an earlier report of the escape of prison inmates from the Koton-Karfe Prisons, Kogi state, the Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) has stated that 12 of 144 escaped inmates have been re-arrested.

The Prison break which occured as at 9:30 Pm on sunday,by gunmen led to the release of 144
Inmates which include those convicted and others standing trial.

The NPS Public Relations Officer, Ope Fatinikun confirmed the incident on monday and has said that the police has started their Investigations.

Speaking further,he said One of the Inmates died during the escape and another shot and is know been Hospitalised alongside a prison
guard who was also shot during the attack.

He has assured that things will be well taken care of and other escaped inmates will be re- arrested soon.
