Hello Nairalanders,

Please I need your advices in other to advice the fellow who asked this same question above...He recently just graduated from the university after studying geography,and now wants to go into Information Technology starting with CCNA certification...My argument has been that I ain't sure if it will cut because most vacancies for IT specialists normally comes with a part where they indicate that "applicants must have prior knowledge of IT,with bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related fields"...And geography ain't related to any of these.

So am turning to this house for advice on way forward from people who are in the biz...do u think its possible for him to make it or he should just go for masters in a course related to his?

Story...... Arent ppo who studied engineering bank managers ? In the labour market, u keep ur degree certificate in ur wardrobe and get to do wat is available for u out thr .....

Speaking from experience, in labour market it is your skills that matter and not your cert - as long as you are a graduate.
