Our greatest problem is underutilization of our ability to read, learn. You learnt to read many years ago.......... in your primary, maybe nursery school yet as you read this post you have never cared to read about what your body organs do -kidney, liver etc needless to say how to keep them healthy, food to eat n what not to eat.

My grandma is diabetic she is now in her late 80s n still very healthy because she takes proper care of herself, uses are drrugs n visit the hospital when she should.

Many of us have read countless romance novel, celebrities gossips etc yyet we fail to read what is most important - how our bodies function and the best way to keep fit- what an irony.

Garri has a low glycemic index, meaning it increases your blood sugar slowly and steadily, so your body can handle the glucose, unlike yam that shoots it up rapidly. So there is nothing wrong with garri. Diabetes is not caused by by too much sugar. It's either you're born with it or you acquire it years later after your insulin receptors have been messed up, may be by some chemical imbalance. Ppl who eat badly, especially processed food, have higher chances of developing it.

Some people are born with diabetes. That's type 1 diabetes but most diabetes are type 2 which is adult set diabetes.

Some people live as sweets, Their lives are diabetic.

Oga redsun, type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. Meaning your antibodies attack the B cells of your pancreas and you are unable to produce adequate insulin. You are born with it. Now my point is Garri flour is not bad. It won't cause diabetes. Diabetics are not told to avoid garri. Our soups are quite balanced, so u can't tell me garri and soup is poor diet. Now I agree with you on exercise. Try and read more about diabetes on your spare time
