Pavore9: Marketing has always been an issue for our farmers, we need creative minds to disrupt the status quo. There is so much to be done from the post harvest stage, which is where the real money is! We are still relatively new though but i'll see if we can put in more efforts towards attracting buyers as fast as possible..... |

django1: Many places bro, I'm sure of all bovas filling stations (dugbe and total garden for certain), I've bought at fatgbems and a couple of stations at apata and oluyole. There are still some selling above pump price but like I said, many already sell at 87 naira with no queue at all. Then that's happening only in Ibadan here in Lagos and Ogun you hardly find those selling at 100 or even 105,and it's da same in a whole lot of states.. |

Pavore9: l guess you mean the farmers in the article. They are producing, they need outlets to sell their produce, smart Nigerians can key in by buying from their farms and have it packaged in 250g transparent packs. Strawberry needs cool temperature to prolong shelf life. How about if we can link them up with buyers be they in Nigeria or outside the country? |

mrmetoo1: When I told you guys to leave the wailers to take the credit for the refineries, some of you disagreed with me. Now most of them are now backtracking and saying this news is a failure of Buhari's government.
Just watch, if tomorrow another news headline reads "refineries now fully operational", they'll say it's GEJ that miraculously made it start working again.
Funny thing is, the headline is misleading because more was said in the bottom part of the article Bros leave this GEJ,Buhari, wailers ,Tanoid, and whatever things and face the reality affecting me,you and other fellow country men.. If there would be hunger today it wouldn't single out a select group.... |

django1: Many filling stations in Ibadan now sell pms at 87 naira. Probably in the south east they have short supply of fuel due to distance so they still sell at higher rates. Bro where in Ibadan are you referring to because i came in from Ibadan some days ago and i'm sorry to say that was not the case? |

Gboliwe: The broom carrying witches won't tell you kerosene is literally "out of stock" in Nigeria. I was broke some two weeks ago and said to buy 10ltrs of kero as against refilling my 12.5kg cylinder. I figured it was cheaper till I got my feet back. I travelled far and wide looking for this essential commodity, I didn't find. I was forced to "borrow" from another allocation to refill my gas. Few days later, it started selling for N180 a litre. That's how much we have fallen Honestly i still don't understand why we love decieving ourselves in this country..... |

Gboliwe: in the words of my friend Kalu he goes thus " Well it’s now August, we have no economic agenda, no finance team, no fiscal direction, and we are adrift economically. The world around us is changing, and we can’t close our eyes or wait till September. We have an economy built on crude oil, crude oil prices are now below $50.00, Iran sanction are about to be lifted. They have told OPEC they will seek their former markets back i.e. Asia. That is the same market Nigeria has been offering her oil at a discount to. Thus we will see a situation where Nigeria will struggle to find buyers for her crude oil and offer steep discounts to encourage buyers. This will affect our revenues. As oil fall naira falls, the CBN measures amount to swimming upstream. The reality is naira as a commodity has lost value, and rational investors are selling naira to buy another product whose value is going up in stable. If CBN bans dollar people will buy gold, or handbags, it does not matter, the economic desire it to preserve value. Its not about the dollar exchange rate. The stock market is in bear territory and approaching a depression. This has erased wealth from many households, pension funds and Insurance companies. Non-oil Commodity prices are down, in 2013 Nigeria made $2.9b from non-oil exports, in 2014 we made $2.3b, output didn’t drop, prices dropped…thus we have to sell more output to even maintain or foreign exchange earnings. Should the impending flood from the release of water from the Cameroon dam be as bad as last year, we may have difficulties sustaining output. Inflation is up, largely fueled by rising fuel prices and food prices. President Buhari say he won’t remove subsidy, but can Nigeria continue to use 40% for FX requests for petrol imports? We hear the refineries are soon coming back to stream, if the refineries are back 100% can we meet local petrol need? I hear we cannot. With inflation up, interest rates might tend up, this will chock the SME further. We hear a faint rumor VAT will go up to 10%...unconfirmed, we however remember Dr Kayode Fayeni said there will be “no new taxes” under Buhari but rather an expansion of the tax base. So as at August we have a current account deficit caused by growth in imports, rising inflation, falling oil prices. What is our response? Nothing…absolutely nothing We have assembled no team, no council of experts to advise our president, or rather the president has not The CBN can only do monetary measures they ant do fiscal. You can’t fight inflation by monetary measures alone It may seem to the casual observer that the President believes he was elected to fight corruption. Yes He was also elected to provide jobs, grow the economy and make food cheaper The clock is ticking…….the people are waiting……" I am waiting for the defenders of the govt to refute this wonderful analysis, only someone who understands economics would know this... Some would only come down to threads like this to behave like defenders in a football team for the government, now the reality's staring us in the face,we have voted in a president that's contented with chasing thieves around the world than the real state of issues on ground,...... God help us all... I just hope that we all would survive 2 years into this government.... |

I don't know when our governments would learn to act before talking one would expect that an output increase would result to a reprieve for the masses, here we are having even more suffering with the so called increase in output.. What a sick country!! |
