Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun will on November 24 present another batch of 5000 Certificates of Occupancy to residents under the state government's on-going Homeowners’ Charter Programme.

Special Adviser/Director General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Adewale Oshinowo said in a statement yesterday that the certificates will be presented to the applicants at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta by 2.00pm.

Oshinowo explained that with investments in technology, the Bureau of Lands and Survey now has capacity to issue up to 1000 Certificates of Occupancy per week, adding that for ease of administration, they will be issued in further batches of 500 until all qualifying properties have been processed.

He therefore enjoined those who had applied under the scheme to co-operate with the property inspection process which is continuing state-wide and reassured the public that all qualifying properties would be issued with C of O and Approved Building plans where applicable.

Commending the public for their overwhelming support and endorsement of the programme, Oshinowo thanked the Community Development Associations and relevant professional organizations for their co-operation.

Homeowners' Charter, which Oshinowo described as a highly successful programme, was launched by the Ogun State Government in December last year and allows property owners to regularize the legal status and documentation of residential property built without approval on private land or built illegally on government owned lands.

The first batch of C of O was presented to home owners on March 26 by Amosun, under the programme which provides discounts of up to 78 percent on the usual costs.
