The Ban Of Okada Was Not A Mistake - Baale Of Oke Odo by newsnow: 6:08pm On Nov 21, 2014
The Baale of Oke-Odo town, High Chief (Hon) Musiliu Dada has addressed the recent ban of okada in Lagos as 'the right thing'.

This came after a tragic accident between an okada and cement truck in Dada Street of Oke Odo, Alimosho Lagos on Thursday, July November 20, 2014.

While reacting to the accident which claimed the life of the motorcyclist and injured the passenger badly, the Baale said: "We have warned drivers and okada riders to be careful in this area most especially this Dada Street because of the dangerous corner we have here. Infact, we have notices placed in almost every pole but our okada riders will not listen"

He further said: "This is the reason why Governor Fashola banned okada. The deaths caused by Okada are too high... The ban was not a mistake".

It was recalled that the Governor of Lagos state, Governor Babatunde Fashola banned the use of Public Motorcycles, popularly known as 'Okada' on major roads over the number of accidents caused by. The ban was followed by mixed reactions as many supported the ban and other opposed it.

However, as revealed by Punch on October 26, 2014, there are indications Okada will soon be banned nationwide as well.newsnowmagazines..com
