A federal court in Abuja has freed Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb attack in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria has reported. The court struck out a two-count terrorism charge against Mr. Ogwuche on Monday, after months of trial for the April 2014 attack which killed more than 70 people. The court hinged its decision on lack of diligent prosecution by the state. Mr. Ogwuche, a suspected Boko Haram
member, was accused by the Nigerian government of being behind the attack. The blast at the Nyanya Motor Park occurred during morning peak hours as residents were hurrying to work. The government said Mr. Ogwuche fled to Sudan after coordinating the attack. He was later repatriated to Nigeria to face charges. Details of Monday’s ruling are sketchy and will be brought in our subsequent updates.

This is a Nigerian/ maybe not.

How can such an open and shut case be bungled by government prosecutors? The only logical explanation is that the outcome i.e. setting the perpetrator of this heinous crime free, was orchestrated by a sympathetic government let by "you know who".

Can this government do anything right? Anything at all?

The two count charge brought against Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche, the alleged mastermind of the the Nyanya bombing, has been struck out by a Federal High Court in Abuja .



The two count charge was struck out by Justice Adeniyi Ademola for want of diligent prosecution by the Inspector-General of Police and his prosecutors.

The suspect, who was in court, however was not discharged as he is been detained by the Department of State Security Service .

However, the hearing of his case for the enforcement of his fundamental human right has been adjourned to December 5

Ogwuche is asking the court to compel the Attorney-General of the Federation and the SSS to either charge him to court or set him free.

He contends that Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution is been violated by his continued detention since July 15 without trial.

However he was produced in court today in compliance with an earlier order of the court.

This case is simple . The DSS, the Nigerian Police and the Attorney General office has no evidence, no clue, no connection to ogwuche to all allegations against him.

Dispute being in their hands for months now they could not find him linked to anything, I pity him and his family if truly he knew nothing of the whole drama and uproar around him.

What else does one need from a DSS whose specialty is to storm Data Centre of the APC and break into the office of a lawyer prosecuting a case against their GODFATHER in Aso Rock.

Nigerians should know we have square pegs in round holes in all agencies of Government from head to hole. What has happened to Abu Qada and kabiru.Sokoto ? Anyone? Nothing the DSS has no link and they begging and torturing them to implicate themselves

Who makes noise about a suspect you don't have anything to hold against him? Check out the case of the imam extradited to US from UK last year, he was charged and sent to Jordan immediately but our OWN intelligence agency deals with information it gets on NAiraland to prosecute people.

How many defenders came before Justice Ademola in last 5 years, most still sitting in jail awaiting a court date. Yet Justice Ademola has not struck out the cases for want of diligent prosecution. Somehow, he has the temerity to dump this case within 4 months. A mass murderer, brought back to Nigeria, after he fled the country.

We joke with ourselves in this country, pretending to stand for something, when most of us truly stand for nothing. Only in Nigeria will a judge allow such a defendant walk, without hearing a single evidence about his crime. In such a high profile case.


At every level of government, this fake Nation will remain a joke.

Why is the judge in a hurry to throw out that case when many poor accessed are still awaiting trial for 10 years in prison remand?? Poor man don suffer sha.....
