Manchester City secured an important three points at the Etihad Stadium against Bayern Munich
to rekindle their hopes of seeing the last 16 of the UCL this term.

The Etihad stadium came alive after Sergio Aguero was brought down in the box by Benatia
who got sent off and reduced to see the visitors reduced to 10-men.
The Argentine striker put City ahead scoring from the penalty spot to begin his eventual hatrick.

Before long, Birthday Boy Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowski scored to see 10-man Bayern go into the break with a 2-1 lead.

The real drama began when the birthday-boy's pass saw his pass intercepted by Aguero who made no mistake to set the match at per at 85th minute but also benefited from another mistake by Jerome Boateng to secure City's much needed victory.
