The skin is the body’s largest organ and absorbs what you put onto it,don't be too lazy to read or if you are, just get your cream/lotion,look for its ingredients and check if any of these chemicals are on it,(one must definitely be on it).

1. Hydroquinone
Used for lightening skin,The most controversial, banned in the UK,rated most toxic on the EWG's skin deep database, and linked to cancer and reproductive toxicity. Have you checked your cream/lotion and you couldn't find hydroquinone? Lol,well skin care manufacturers are tricky, here are some fancy names given to this chemical(elopaque,eldoquin,aida,benzendil,Hydroxyphenol,1,4-benzenediol,hydroxybenzene,quinol,quinone,benzoquinol,Dihydroxybenzene etc) check for any of these on your lotion! Check!!

2. Parabens
Examples: butylparaben, ethylparaben, isobutylparaben, isopropylparaben, methylparaben, propylparaben
Common preservatives that are linked to breast cancer.

3. Diethanolamine(DEA) and Triethanolamine(TEA)
These chemicals can react with other ingredients in the cosmetic product to form potent carcinogenic chemicals called nitrosamines, that are linked with liver, stomach, bladder and esophagus cancers.

4. Triclosan
Triclosan a synthetic “antibacterial” ingredient – with a chemical structure similar to Agent Orange! The EPA registers it as a pesticide, giving it high scores as a risk to both human health and the environment.

5. Mineral oil : most harmful when poorly refined,
By product of petroleum, that's used in baby oil, moisturizers, styling gels,it creates a film that impairs the skin's ability to release toxins.

Other Common Toxic Ingredients To Avoid:
Synthetic Fragrances
Aluminum
Pthalates
DEET
Dioxins
Formaldehyde
PABA
Para-Aminobenzoic Acid (PABA)
Petrolatum
Phenoxyethanol
Toluene
Siloxanes
Sodium sulfates
Oxybenzone
Mercury.

Always read the ingredient labels and know what’s in your products.
