A Kenyan man identified as Stanley Owino, has been arrested for slashing the face of his ex-girlfriend with a sword.

Usikimye, a women-led community organization fighting to end gender-based violence, shared Jacqueline Karima’s story on Wednesday, May 5.

It was gathered that Owini had repeatedly attacked and threatened Jacqueline since their eight years relationship ended in 2020 due to his numerous affairs.

According to the NGO, Jacqueline had gone to buy soda at a nearby shop when Owini allegedly broke into her fifth floor apartment and hid in her bedroom.

When she returned, he ambushed her with a Masai sword which he used to slash her face as well as other parts of her body.

Taking to Facebook to report the story, Usikimye wrote;

Jacky was living with her boyfriend of eight years Stanley Owino until sometime last year when they parted ways , he had been having numerous affairs , and had even moved in with a lady who they got a baby with.

She moved out and her ordeal started there, Stanley threatening her that her would never let her go. The first time her followed her and stabbed her was in November. She reported and went to hospital, he disappeared and wasn’t arrested.

On January 05th this year , Stanley attacked her again and stabbed her in the back amongst other places , his claim was if he couldn’t have her no one would. Jacky was admitted to Hospital fighting for her life. Upon release she opted to move out of the estate, change her number and start afresh in a completely new environment. This matter was still reported, and he fled once again.

Yesterday Jacky who lives on fifth floor went to buy soda at the shop, she didn’t lock her door, however in returning, she was filled with trepidation, and as she used to she checked everywhere, the last place was her bedroom, where Stanley was waiting to ambush her with a Masai sword which he used to slash her face as well as her body.

We found out that Stanley had been tracking Jacky and had moved to the flat where she was staying and had been monitoring her movements. The police are currently in the house.

Stanley had finally been arrested and will be taking plea in court tomorrow and I don’t have enough thanks for Cynthia Njoroge for agreeing immediately to hold brief for this matter.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a community health officer, Bitrus Musa Agwon and a nursing mother identified as Pauline Daniel in Jos North local government area of Plateau State.

It was gathered that Agwon, the proprietor of G-Medicals, was abducted in Faraka area of the council by the kidnappers who stormed his residence at 7:00 pm on Tuesday May 4.

“The proprietor who is also a Community Health Officer was in his house when the kidnappers forced themselves in and kidnapped him at a gunpoint, maltreating other members of the family before they finally whisked him away to an unknown destination.” a source told Nigerian Tribune.

“Kidnapping is becoming a daily occurrence in this part of the state capital. We had complained severely to the government and security agencies without any positive response. Up to the time I am talking to you, the kidnappers have not contacted the family to know the whereabouts of the man.” the source added.

The kidnappers also invaded a nearby community of Eto-Baba and abducted a nursing mother, leaving her baby behind.

According to a member of the family, Gyang Ibrahim, the gunmen invaded the house at about 8:45 pm, threatening to kill anyone who attempts to disrupt the operation adding that the woman was forced into a waiting vehicle, while the baby was left crying.

He added that before those in the house could raise alarm, the gunmen had zoomed off.

Meanwhile, some of Ms Daniel’s friends claimed that she has been released after ransom payment. However, the police is yet to confirm the development.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the calls for secession might lead to extermination of minority groups in the country.

The former President said this while receiving the Tiv Professional Group (TPG) from Benue State, who paid him a courtesy visit in Abeokuta on Wednesday May 5.

Recounting how a Military friend told him that major tribes in the country are selfish and not sufficiently caring for the minority groups, Obasanjo said he aligned with his friend’s opinion and also expressed worry over what will become of these minority tribes if major tribes decide to secede and begin to operate as separate countries.

He said;

“If the Yoruba can stand as a country, if the Igbos and the Hausa/Fulani can stand as separate countries, where do we want the minority groups to be?

“Now, by virtue of the present situation, they are a little bit protected, but if Nigeria breaks up, they will be oppressed and exterminated.”

Also recalling his meetings with a number of socio-cultural organisations in September 2020, Obasanjo noted that nobody at such meetings talked about disintegration or breakup. He said “all they clamoured for was a change for good.”

The Kano State Hisbah Board has sacked a top official allegedly caught with a married woman in a hotel room in Sabon Gari area of the state.

LIB reported that the Hisbah commander identified as Sani Rimo, was allegedly found in a questionable manner with the married woman on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

However, in an interview with SaharaReporters on Wednesday, March 10, the Hisbah’s communications officer, Nabahani Usman, said the officer was found innocent, adding that the said married woman in question is his daughter.

Spokesperson of the board, Lawal Fagge, confirmed the sacking of the official to Vanguard on Tuesday, May 4,

It was gathered that the decision followed a report by a committee set up by the board to unravel circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 52-year-old-man, Kayode Adeniyi, of no 12 Abere Ifa street, Ijoko, has been arrested by men of the Ogun state police command for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a10 yrs old girl (named withheld) as well as his three underaged daughters.


A statement released by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Agbado divisional headquarters by the aunty of the 10-year-old victim. Oyeyemi said the aunt told the police that while her niece went to the apartment of the suspect to ask whether his daughter was the person who mistakenly removed the clothes she spread outside, the suspect allegedly forcefully dragged her into the room, covered her mouth with a pillow and had sexual intercourse with her. Oyeyemi said the aunt explained further that the suspect threatened to kill her niece with a knife if she makes a noise.

Oyeyemi said during the course of the investigation, it was discovered he has being sexually abusing his three underaged biological daughters

”On the strength of the report, the Dpo Agbado division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed having carnal knowledge of the victim forcefully, he also admitted that he threatened the victim with knife and that is why she can’t make noise until he satisfied his sexual urge.

Further investigation into the past activities of the suspect revealed that, he has being sexually abusing his three underaged biological daughters before now which he also did not denied.”the statement in part read

The spokesperson added that the victim has been taken to General Hospital for medical examination and treatment. He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the family support unit of the Sango area command to take over the case for in-depth investigation and diligent prosecution.

Sapir Berman has made sports history after officiating at a soccer match in Israel’s Premier League for the first time since coming out as transgender.


Berman took to the field for the contest between Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Haifa on Monday, May 3, after she publicly announced her transition in a press conference last week Tuesday.



Berman, aged 26 was already a top male referee in Israel’s leading football league, but decided to change to female as she had always seen herself as a female, even at a young age.



She told reporters that players had already begun using the feminine form of words in Hebrew when addressing her.


“They really feel that they want to somehow take part in this process and even speak to men when it’s not necessary and speak to me as a woman. So thank you,” Berman said.


Outside the stadium in the northern city of Haifa, one fan carried a banner that hailed Berman as a “super woman, incredible, brave”.


“This is the first step in a long and wonderful journey. Sapir, we are proud to do it with you,” the Israel Football Association tweeted as she officiated the match.

The Akwa Ibom state police command has confirmed the death of Ini Umoren, the young lady who went missing after going for an interview.

In a statement released by the state command, he said the deceased was raped, murdered, and buried in a shallow grave.

On April 30th, Hinny’s friend Umoh Uduak, raised alarm on Twitter that her friend was missing after going for an interview.

Her story went viral and a hashtag #FindHinnyHumoren was created on Twitter as many Twitter users and influencers helped in the retweet.

Speaking to newsmen, Odiko Mcdon, the spokesperson of the state police command revealed that Uduak Frank Akpan has been arrested for kidnapping, raping, and killing the victim the deceased.

The suspect confessed to luring his victim to his house in the guise of giving her a job, but ended up sexually and physically assaulting her which led to her death.

He then buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound but later her body was exhumed and deposited at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for autopsy.

The spokesman said, “The suspect confessed to have told his local government chairman of his atrocity before escaping to Calabar and was never at any time handed over to the police by anyone”

Actress and model, Venita Akpofure, has said that walking out of her marriage was one of the toughest decisions she has ever had to take.

A little boy, Muhammad Kabir, who was kidnapped from his parents’ home in a Kaduna state, has been found dead, seven days after he was taken and N5 million ransom was paid for his release.

DailyTrust reports that Kabir was taken from the Badarawa suburb of Kaduna North local government area and is believed to have been killed by his kidnappers, one of whom is said to be his neighbour. His body was found in drainage in Kano after a weeklong search and returned to Kaduna today May 1 for burial.


Sources in the community also said immediately the boy was declared missing, a search for him was done for days before a call came in from the kidnappers demanding N50m, and then later reduced the amount to N35m before finally agreeing to N5m.

Abdulrahman Kabir Magayaki, a brother to the victim, said late Kabir was taken away from their house to Zaria then to Kano State where his body was retrieved after the ransom was paid.

“One of the suspects that took the boy away was our neighbour while the ex-military personnel was also a resident in the community. They took him to Zaria from there to Kano where his body was retrieved inside drainage after they collected 5 million naira ransom,” he said.

Abdulrahman said the victim’s body was brought back to Kaduna and buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday May 1. Another resident, on condition of anonymity, said the victim must have been killed after he recognised the faces of his abductors since they all live in the same area.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Kaduna state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said three suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime, including the neighbour.

He said they all confessed to the crime but said he cannot comment on the military background of one of the suspects until after the investigation is concluded.

Suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked four villages in Gwer-West local government area of Benue State and killed five persons.

It was gathered that three others including a pregnant woman were reportedly injured in the attack that happened in the early hours of Friday, April 30.

The armed herdsmen were said to have escaped with gunshot wounds after troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) trailed them to the Benue Nasarawa border and engaged them in a gun duel.

According to reports, the herdsmen first invaded Ahume Village along Makurdi/Naka Road but were dislodged by the troops who then stationed at the village to ward off a possible attack by the invaders.

One of the natives who identified himself as Fidelis told Tribune that while the troops were patrolling Ahume community, the herdsmen went further to Tse-Nyarei Village and started shooting in all direction killing five people and injuring others including a pregnant woman.

The native said that the five dead bodies have so far been recovered by security agencies, while three others including a pregnant woman were rescued alive with severe gunshot injuries even as many were said to still be missing.

Fidelis said that the dead bodies have been evacuated while the wounded were also taken to the hospital for treatment.

“There was a distress call that herdsmen attacked Ahume village along Makurdi-Naka road. As troops stationed in Kula village were alerted, the bandits ran to another village Tse Nyarei where they killed three people.,” he said.

“Many others were injured. The soldiers followed and met the bandits at the river bank on the border between Benue and Nasarawa States where they exchanged fire with them. They however crossed the river and escaped into Nasarawa State.”

Nigerian man sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in South Africa for conning women out of over N26m in online dating scam (pics)

The Bellville Commercial Crimes Court Cape Town, has sentenced a Nigerian fraudster Chinonso Pascal Eze, who ran an online dating scam in which he duped unsuspecting women out of over R1 035 030 (N26m)

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Eric Ntabazalila said in a statement that Eze, 36, was on Thursday, April 29, sentenced to 20 years imprisonment after being convicted on 23 counts of fraud and nine counts of money laundering.
Eze entered into a plea and sentencing agreement with the State on Thursday and confessed to being part of a syndicate which operated an online dating scam.

He told the court the ultimate goal was to secure large sums of money from “unsuspecting victims”.

The court heard that Eze and members of the syndicate reached out to victims through dating sites. He groomed women, gaining their trust, and then requested money from them in “emergencies”.

Ntabazalila said the syndicate created fake dating profiles using the names Marcos Ivan, Michael Brandy Smart and Craig Thompson.

The profiles portrayed wealthy men who were in a position to repay the victims, and this was a deliberate action to create a false sense of security in the victims.

In the first incident, Eze pretended to be Ivan and communicated with the victim via a dating site and even sent her photos of “himself”.

Eze, gaining the trust of his victim, managed to swindle a total of R314 950 between November 2017 and January 2018.


In the second incident, Eze pretended to be Smart, where he used the same modus operandi and managed to swindle a total of R186 080 that was deposited into accounts held by four people.


The third victim spent the most money. Using the same modus operandi, Eze managed to convince his victim to deposit R534 000 into bank accounts held by various people. In total, Eze swindled his victims out of R1 035 030.


Evidence before the court revealed that the money was transferred and withdrawn from bank accounts held by Yolanda Mange, R. Mapheelle, Hako XB, LC Sihepo, Global Shipping, LF Coe, O. Dlikilili and P. Mendrew, forming the basis for money laundering.

Senior State advocate Lucinda Mcani told the court that the offences committed by Eze contained elements of premeditation and argued that the offences were grave.

Eze was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for the 23 counts of fraud, four years of which are suspended for a period of five years on condition that he is not found guilty of fraud during this time.

He was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for money laundering of which five years were suspended for five years on condition that he is not found guilty of money laundering during this time.


The court ordered his sentences to run concurrently, thus Eze will effectively serve six years in prison.

The court also declared Eze unfit to possession of firearm.

Woman’s arm amputated after her husband allegedly butchered her arm and leg because he suspected her of infidelity (Graphic photos)

A woman has narrated how her husband, who she claims she has caught cheating many times on their matrimonial bed, butchered her because he suspected her of cheating.

Roselyne Victory O’Neill now has one arm after her left arm was amputated following attempts by her husband to stab her on her chest.

Narrating her story on Facebook, She alleged that she caught her husband cheating multiple times during courtship but she forgave him.


They married on November 24, 2018, after both checking their HIV status and submitting negative reports.

However, she claims that into the marriage, she discovered he has tested HIV positive since 2017 yet concealed the information from her.

She said she confronted him about it and he told her he owes her no explanation.

Subsequently, she took herself and their baby boy for HIV test, forgave her husband, and remained in the marriage.

Roselyne, who has a food stand in Cultural Centre Field, Calabar, said her life changed on Dec 27, 2020. She woke early that Sunday and went about her business to fend for herself, as she claims her husband spends his money on women and she’s left to cater for her needs on her own.

Since it was the festive season and most of her workers travelled for the Christmas break, she had a lot of work on her hands.

While selling food to people who returned for the Christmas holiday, she said a customer came in and she recognized him as an old friend from school. They hugged, chatted briefly, then she went about serving her other customers.

Because it was a busy day for business, she sold food till 11pm. She explained that she was too tired and sleepy by the time she was done so she called the driver who usually takes her back home but he wasn’t picking.

Her old classmate, who was still on the field with other revelers, tried to help her order a cab online but she said the cost was too expensive, so she just arranged chairs and decided to sleep at her stand that night.

She explained that this is not unusual during festive seasons and there were others also staying over at the field.


She slept off immediately and woke the next morning to shouts from her husband calling her a “prostitute” and other names.

She said that before she could defend herself, he brought out something she thought was a belt and aimed it at her chest. She blocked with her arm and that’s when she discovered it was not a belt but a knife.

He struck her arm three times before people in the field attempted to stop him.

Angered that he could not stab her on her chest, she said he then started stabbing her leg.

She lost consciousness and was then rushed to the hospital where she underwent 3 surgeries.

Her arm became infected due to the knife used to inflict the injury and had to be amputated.

She revealed that even while she was in the hospital, she discovered her husband was busy seeing other women and wouldn’t provide the full money needed for her treatment.

She says she’s done with the marriage and now calls him her “ex-husband”.

The case is in court.

A video of a side chic being confronted after she allegedly bathed her married lover with hot oil in Abuja has been shared online.

In the video, the married man is topless to reveal the damage done to his skin. He suffered burns on the skin on his back and stomach, with some parts peeling already.

Spectators are heard confronting the side chic, who tries to hide her face from the camera.
They are heard saying that this isn't the first time the young woman has tried to harm her married lover. He reportedly escaped alive the first time. Then she made another attempt on his life.

In the recent case, the man reportedly called on the side chic to visit and she did. After they had spent some time together, the man went into the bathroom while the side chic allegedly went into the kitchen to heat up oil.

She waited for him and as soon as he exited from the bathroom, she bathed him with the hot oil.

The side chic reportedly claimed the married man is in the habit of raping her whenever she visits him, hence the attack.

Michael Collins, the command pilot of the first crewed mission to the moon, has died aged 90 following a "valiant battle" with cancer.
Collins was the command pilot of Apollo 11 in the first crewed mission to the moon with Neil Armstrong and Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin.

On July 16, 1969, Collins was launched to the Moon in the Apollo 11 mission with commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Edwin Aldrin.

Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the Moon in the lunar module Eagle on July 20 while Collins remained in the command module Columbia, circling the Moon at an altitude of 97–121 km (60–75 miles).

Mr Collins was a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, New York.


He joined the space program in 1963 after transferring to the air force, becoming a test pilot at Edwards Air Force Base in California.


On July 21 Armstrong and Aldrin rejoined him, and the following day the astronauts left lunar orbit. They splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on July 24.

Neil Armstrong died on August 25, 2012, while Buzz Aldrin is 90 and living in Florida.


The Armstrong Air & Space Museum tweeted its condolences saying, "Neil gained another crew member today".The Armstrong Air & Space Museum is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of #Apollo11 astronaut Michael Collins.
