The official website of Leadership Newspapers, which is one of Nigeria’s foremost newspapers has been hacked. Visitors to the website this evening (Tuesday) saw a banner displayed at the top of the website my the hackers which called themselves Nigerian Cyber Army.

IBPulse.com spoke exclusively to the online editor of Leadership Newspapers, Mr. Ekele Peter Agbo and he confirmed the cyber attack.

“We are aware of the attack and we’ve dealt with it. Whoever did it did so to embarrass us,” he said.

He advised Leadership.ng visitors to refresh the refresh the page to confirm the banner that was placed by the hackers had been removed.

The site is still up as at press time.
