How can you compare PHP and HTML?? Are you a wannabe? PHP is a Server Side Scripting/Programming Language. HTML is a Markup Language. PHP outputs HTML to the client. They're two very different Things.

When ur learning stops at html.. You can only develop a static site with no server side.. PHP is the server side that makes your site dynamic.. So after learning html and css.. Enter php... Its not an option.. Its a must and non-negotiable

It actually depends on the target profession. If you have the target of being a web designer, you really won't need PHP. You're fine with HTML, CSS and jQuery. You will need to work closely with a web developer to put life into your design.

If you want to be a web developer, take about an hour to brush up on the basics of html and then delve into PHP and MySQL or any other serverside language and database engine of your choice.

If you want to be a full stack developer (you wan know everything), you should start your journey with HTML and CSS, The basics of Javascript and jQuery. Then move to PHP and MySQL, delve into AJAX too. Then you can look at the frameworks if you are that kinda person.
