The English would say 'I am hungry' the yorubas will say ' hunger is killing me' the Frenchmen would say 'I have hunger'. And this brings confusion..
The English man would wonder why someone should have hunger or why a man should say hunger is killing him. And this can cause confusion among speaker of English Language and most Nigerian languages in politics, religion etc
. No matter how hard you try you can never speak effectively as the native speaker of a language. If you think otherwise, why not use your energy to build our languages. Every year about 5 languages die in Nigeria. English languages is the major problem we have in Nigeria. Look at all nations in the developed-nation categories, they have a national language. Let us develop our national languages before the remaining ones die because people have started shifting from the usage of their languages to the use of English. I will write the uses of english in the present Nigeria but we need to still preserve out languages... It's ours
