Democracy is not an african thing. Military style of leadership is their thing so they caan continue learn the hard way

Na him u dey talk small small, what kind of democrazy is that. Our so called leaders manner and style of driving with siren, full headlight anytime of the day,hit and run pattern and no respect for other road users piss me a lot.

I kept asking myself,is there any difference btw these guys and military in power? Maybe just the uniform that they are not putting on.

Small time now local govt councillors will start using siren wt 5 tinted jeeps too to oppress people.

As for d pix,why are we going too far to 1960 when in a recent confab just few months back, many of them collected millions of naira as sleeping allowance. Very old people oo

Some of them only contributed sleep to the confab stuff.

I am nt making excuses for him but that could b as a result of Jet lag. If u travel to a zone whose time is far différent from urs, the 1st few days ur system follows the time in Nigeria.

For eg if it is 5pm in New York, it is 11pm in Nigeria. Ur system behaves d way it would behave if u were in Nigeria. U would definitely want to dose off.

But that Jaja Nwachukwu own seems as if it was a combination of Jetlag and partying all night.

Na jetlag naaaaa.
PUTIN currently the world's most powerful man LEFT a meeting in d U.S.A
before its conclusion to return to RUSSIA (not even hotel) to have a BED REST, saying he needed a nap.
AND this happened last week

He is not a northerner. He was from Eastern Nigeria, present day Ebonyi State. And he was the first minister of Education after independence

Ibo's - clueless in politics and diplomacy, disgracing Nigeria in foreign lands since 1960, whether through drug trafficking, politics or 419. Yet at the same time, Nwachukwu's kinsmen claimed to be unsatisfied with the same Nigeria that he was traveling thousands of miles to represent, and were plotting a poorly planned rebellion that wasted 3 million innocent lives and forever put them at the back burner of Nigerian politics.

It is wrong to ;
1.Always dig up a negative picture of another tribe when trying to prove a point. I think it makes one show how low he is,imagine such person in position of leadership.
2. This post didnt try to tell us the medical history of Jaja, same way everyone always made joke with Zimbabwe President but we all know he has a condition and no fault of his.
3.assume the wrong ones have always been in positions,no dear not Jaja, did you know he resigned once? Did you know he received our instrument of independence and for his uprightness resigning when military struck few hours, the coupists protected him refering to him as honest?
My point is you should have used someone low,not Jaja, a man who left his practice abroad to come negotiate our freedom,a man who helped save Mandela.Do not know what your reasons are but I think its unfair

Maybe Jaja fell victim to jet lag, but he was certainly one of the distinguished Nigerians of his era. He represented Nigeria so well at the UN, in an era when Westerners were not used to seeing Africans striving for leadership at the global level. TIME magazine wrote a glowing article about him in 1961 titled 'United Nations: Pride of Africa'.

He was from Abia, not Ebonyi.

This could be jetlag. He probably left Nigeria and did not have time to rest before attending the meeting.

Having said that, I can see that many commentators do not know Jaja, one of the most distinguished diplomats and members of paliament ever to come out of Nigeria. He was from Abia State-of the Ngwa stock. He was the in fact the first Ngwa lawyer.

A little google search would have shown those lampooning him that he was the first speaker of the house of reps, the first foreign minister and the first ambassador to UN. Before the 1966 coup, he was the aviation minister. Many of Nigeria's aviation laws still bear his signature. He initiated the training of Nigeria's first crop of flight and grounds officers. The Aviation Training Centre, Zaria, was established during his tenure. He once sacked the chiarman of the board of Nigeria Airways for insurbordination. The Prime Minister pleaded with him to reinstate the board chairman but he refused. Instead, he handed a resignation letter to the Prime Minister.

If those that succeeded him were dutiful, honest and patriotic as he was, our country would have been a better place. Yes he slept. But it was mother nature rather than incompetence. If the OP had bothered to do a research on Jaja, he would not have posted this to mock the memory of one of our very finests.

On a personal note, Jaja's grandson, Uchenna, was my classmate in high school. A jolly good fellow, I have not seen the dude since we wrote our last WAEC paper that very hot afternoon many years ago.
