We have all been inundated with stories of Adams Oshomole as Buhari's running mate.
Just wondering, Oshomole is just barelly a year on his second term in office and as such might be scepticall relinguishing the governorship position to an uncertain adventure of running for Buhari's VP.

Just wondering . Can he regain his governorship if after the election and him and Buhari looses in 2015. A tough call IMO.

Or can there be an arrangement like what Rochas did with his son inlaw.

Dude..he doesn't have to resign. Try to understand the constitution.
Same way GEJ has not resigned. He was not appointed but elected, so he has no business resigning

no. He don't have to resigned. GEJ did not resigned when he was Yar adua VP candidate in 2007. However if APC wins then he must resigned to be the VP

He will need to resign just like Atiku resigned in Adamawa to contest with obj and just like GEJ resigned in Bayelsa to contest with YarAdua of blessed memories.

Rochas case is different: mere primaries as per APC internal affair

If Oshiomhole takes up the Vp with Buhari, he can't come back as Gov because the dep.Gov would be sworn-in as Gov

Am struggling to understand this really:
So ur saying if he looses he falls back to his governoship position.

Those in the know shud let us know, did GEJ resigned as governor of Bayelsa to be Yaradua VP. Did Atiku resigned wen OBJ took him as his VP.

He doesn't have to resign to run with Buhari.

GEJ didn't haveto resign when he ran with Yar'Adua

Sambo didn't have to resign when he ran with GEJ.

When he becomes the VP, his party replaces him with his deputy I think.

Atiku was elected the Governor of Adamawa State, but hadn't been sworn in before he was called upon to be the running mate to Obasanjo. So no need of resigning when he has signed (been sworn in). As for GEJ, he never resigned as the Governor of Bayelsa State.

If you look at the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, you'll discover that one of the sections states that a candidate of any Political Party must have resigned his appointment 30 - 60days to the day of Election. A Civil Servant or a Minister/Commission/PA or all other appointed Political Office Holders must resign not the Elected ones.

When the then Hon. Henry Seriaki Dickson of the House of Reps was contesting as Bayelsa State Governor, he didn't resign as a Member of the House of Reps. When Opeyemi Bamidele was contesting as Governor of Ekiti State, he didn't resign. When he lost the Election, he went back to the House.

Oshiomole (if selected as the VP Candidate) won't resign as the Governor of Edo State. If he loses (which is practically impossible), he would go back as the Governor of Edo State. By the Grace of God, Buhari alongside whoever emerges as the VP Candidate will defeat the Incumbent President come 2015. We're tired of this guy, we need Change.

Lest I forget, there are so many Senators/House of Reps Members who won their Parties' Tickets for the Governorship of their State in the just concluded Primaries. They won't resign as Lawmakers!

Daz a gud one right there bro. On the flip side though, the reason 4 the question is I know Oshomole and Buhari will loose. The first time it will be happening. I mean a governor leaving his post to go for a VP post only to loose. Soo I just needed to be clear if Osho baba will loose both ends . Thank God he has something to fall back on wen he looses along with Buhari. I like dat guy osho despite his G n D outburst.

the resignation only comes when you are about to be sworn in as the VP or so. No resignation before that. You are free to campaign and campaign without resigning. The only people that need to resign before campaign are those who were appointed not those who were elected
