2015: APC Considers Prof Osibanjo for VP Slot


the All Progressives Congress (APC), is reportedly “strongly” considering a former Lagos State commissioner for justice and attorney-general, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, as its vice-presidential candidate, TheCable is reporting.

The consideration for Osibanjo is based on the premise that the presidential candidate of the party, most likely to be a Muslim will come from the northern region, though the party has not made any pronouncement on the zone to clinch the ticket.

Another concern according to report is the concern raised that the party was moving towards fielding a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

The concern was based on the assumption that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a Muslim, was interested in being the vice-presidential candidate, but Tinubu according to TheCable has since dropped his ambition “in the overall interest of APC
