Just wondering how the media industry get their ratings. It's much easier and accurate in the US and other developed countries.

The media industry here includes Radio, TV, and Nollywood.

They carry out live surveys using call-in lines on daily programmes. Surveys are also arranged on street corners to view public opinion on popular shows. On visiting studios you come across complaint boxes, thats another way of reaching to the public.

Finally, the most effective option employed in Nigeria involves visiting viewing centres and bars at scheduled times, taking note to watch if people tune in to catch an episode of said program.
