Dear customers, please note that following events may effect your vehicle delivery within the CA district.
Truck drivers that are transporting cargo from Los Angeles and Long Beach went on strike this Monday. They are protesting against 4 trucking companies at the ports. We will provide with updates as soon as we have more information available.

Really reasonable issue that can effect delivery of car to the port.

Please be aware that delays can sometimes occur during the winter months when the ports are closed or there is lack of available containers due to bad weather conditions.
Please note, NJ customs are overburdened due to very high volume, and delays with documentation are not uncommon. When shipping RORO there may be delays due to the large volume the shipping line is experiencing, in this case, the vehicle will be loaded onto the next vessel with available cargo space.

Jacksonville port opened service for Volkswagen conglomerate as its Southeastern hub
As it is well known, Jaxport is one of the biggest and most handling ports in the U.S. That is why Jaxport has just received its first order for AMPORTS shipping from automotive producer Volkswagen. More that 1000 new Volkswagen Golfs, Jettas, Beetles arrived this Wednesday to Florida port for RORO vessels.
Vehicles, produced at Volkswagen's manufactory in Mexico, will be shipped through Jaxport to dealerships across the whole region.

U.S. Ports' Improvement
During the last amendment, passed by the U.S. House of Representatives it was decided to allocate USD 36 million to U.S. ports as funding. This money should serve for harbour improvements, to raise the total efficiency and competitiveness of our ports. It will also help to create additional well-paid jobs and will drive the economy to the higher level. It was Congresswoman Janice Hahn who pushed for the amendment and promised to increase the financing level to 100% next year.

Most RORO vehicles to Nigeria are shipped with Grimaldi/ACL. Grimaldi has a first come first serve policy and it is not uncommon for a vehicle to miss the first available vessel due to a lineup cars already waiting at the port. Our Nigerian clients prefer the use of Grimaldi due to its unrivalled safety and easy receipt of their vehicle in Lagos where Grimaldi has its own terminal. smiley

Receiving your car at Destination Port
Container: When shipping a full container load the container will be released to the consignee provided. When shipping a less than full container load the container will be assigned to a destination agent who will de-consolidate the cargo to the respective consignees.

RORO: The consignee will receive the vehicle at the port using the Original Bill of Lading or Telex release.

Documents: The title and OBL will be sent via express courier to the consignee as soon as they are received from the U.S. Customs.

Please note Auction Export does not provide customs clearance services at the destination country and it is the client's responsibility to clear their cargo.

The process of vehicle transportation to the warehouse or port will begin as soon as the vehicle and freight are paid for. An Auction Export representative will verify the vehicle and the title/ownership are ready for pick up and a vehicle will be dispatched to the location.

Note: All vehicles are insured during ground transportation and are picked up by a flat bed or tow truck. Auction Export uses qualified drivers approved and licensed by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Container Shipping:

Your vehicle will be delivered to an Auction Export warehouse in NJ, GA, TX, CA or for Canadian shipments Toronto, ON.,Montreal QC., A 40ft container can hold up to 5 vehicles and if you are shipping a full container load the container will be loaded upon vehicles arrival at the warehouse. You will be provided with a container number which you can use to get an updated position of your cargo. If you are shipping a single vehicle then it will be consolidated into a container with other vehicles and loaded as soon as all the vehicles arrive at the warehouse. When the container is loaded it will be transported to the port and loaded onto a vessel the following week.

Shipping process guide.
At the start of the shipping process with Auction Export, a filled out release (consignee) form is required to be uploaded or emailed by the client. The consignee information which is provided in the release form will be submitted to the shipping line and the vehicle will be released at the destination port to the person whose information appears on the form.
We will upload a dock receipt to your profile. This temporary document signifies that the car has been booked to sail on a particular vessel. A car cannot enter a port without this document. Once delivered to the port, the information on the dock receipt (such as the vessel name, date of departure and date of arrival) are subject to change at the shipping line’s discretion. The actual loading time depends on how fast the car clears Customs, the congestion at the terminal, as well as other factors. The average time from arrival at the exit port to loading is around 3 weeks.

ACL Grimaldi is the shipping line we use most often for RORO transport to Nigeria. Their terminals can be found at all major US East Coast ports. Customs clearance at these ports can take anywhere from a few days to 1 month. After your vehicle has loaded, ACL Grimaldi notifies us of the vessel name and the estimated time of arrival to the destination. As soon as we have this confirmation, we will notify you by email and change the vehicle status in your profile.

Once the vessel sets sail from the US, ACL Grimaldi will issue the original bill of lading and send it to our office. If the title has been returned by US Customs, the title will be included along with the bill of lading. If not, the title will be sent at a later date. As soon as we receive the documents at our office, we will upload a copy of the original bill of lading to your profile and send the documents via DHL to the mailing address from your consignee form. If there is an outstanding balance on the vehicle, we will keep the documents in our office until the payment is made.

Re: How to Ship your Car from North America to Nigeria! by Export1: 5:02pm On May 12, 2015
If the vehicle is purchased from an auction the selling party has up to 30 days to turn in the title/ownership for the vehicle. This can cause significant delays for the shipping process as the vehicle will not be picked up until the title/ownership is present. Please ask an Auction Export representative if the vehicle title/ownership is present prior to purchase to avoid this delay.

Re: How to Ship your Car from North America to Nigeria! by Export1: 5:04pm On May 12, 2015
Certain areas of the U.S.A. have a seasonal or yearly low traffic volume increasing the amount of time elapsed between vehicle purchase and delivery to the warehouse or port. States with low traffic volume include, but are not limited to, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Delays can also occur due to bad weather conditions in the winter months. Please note that other potential delays can occur from truck breakdowns which are rare but unavoidable. smiley
