No chance of him winning the award. The Super Eagles failure to qualify for AFCON 2015 is a big setback for his aspirations.
What's this one saying?

Yaya's form really depreciated some this season. Enyeama led Lille to 11 or 12 consecutive clean sheets and was easily Africa's best and the top 5 goalies at the last World Cup. He deserves it!

the guy is not just picking up....he was man city's best player last season....
No African player seems to be on the same level as Yaya Toure for now. It's not a joke to be vice-captain of a star-studded team like Man City, winning both the EPL and Capital One cup scoring the decisive goal against Sunderland, and was highest goal scorer for Man city. A midfielder for that matter. Even contested closely with Suarez for EPL player of the season. Only if they had presented Enyeama last year when we won the AFCON instead of Mikel, he'd have stood a chance. Dortmund have been so poor this season that they are currently at the bottom of Bundesliga table, so Aubemayang is out of it. So it's Yaya Toure all the way. Quite unfortunate tho but you can't fault the guy's talent.

Shame on BBC, awarding the best player award to someone who dosnt even make the final shortlist of CAF......who knows African football better, BBC or CAF? Scoring a hatrick in a championsleague group game dosnt make u d best player in continent.

Eyeama all da way.

You don't have to make your point like a kid. What's with 'rubbish' and asking whether I can read or not? I stated my opinion and I didn't quote you!

Yaya Toure (Cote d'Ivoire , Manchester City)
and
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon, Borussia Dortmund)

to the award?

Nt until yaya toure is dead.. Dis yaya of a guy is 2 gud.
Re: Vincent Enyeama Makes African Player Of The Year Final Shortlist by Decale: 9:09am On Dec 26, 2014
If everyone can leave sentiments out of this, the award deserves to go to Yaya Toure, 20 goals in the epl last season which makes up the bulk of this year. Although he started slow this season, he's picked it up when Aguero wasn't there, easily Manchester city best player now.

If he wasn't there, Vincent Enyeama would take it

If reading well goes with abysmal punctuation and spelling, then I'm OK like this. When you want to correct someone next time, do it respectfully.

You're the silly one here and don't ever quote me if you've not been taught manners from wherever you come from. It's African player of the year 2014, meaning the whole year and not last season that ended in May, which was not even up to half of the year. Btw all the achievements of Yaya Toure I itemised where even obtained last season going by your logic. Next time think with your brain and not your anus whenever you want to reply me.

Re: Vincent Enyeama Makes African Player Of The Year Final Shortlist by dabossman(m): 10:33am On Dec 26, 2014
Sadly, I think Yaya will win it again. Enyeama has been outstanding no doubt, but outfield players tend to have the advantage most times, especially when you score goals like Yaya does. Coaches will be voting and most would choose a midfielder in the mould of Yaya over a goalie.

Would be very glad if Enyeama could edge it though.

The 2014 Glo-CAF Awards will take place on Thursday, 8 January 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Awards Gala will see players and officials who have distinguished themselves during the year (2014) receiving honours for their achievements.

Legends of the game including the prestigious African Player of the Year and winners in 15 other categories will be unveiled during the Gala night.

Other categories are African Player of The Year (Based in Africa), National Team of The Year, Club of The Year, Referee of the Year and Coach of The Year.

The rest are Most Promising Talent, Women’s National Team of The Year, Women’s Player of The Year, African Legend, CAF Fair Play Award, Youth Player of the Year and Platinum Award.

Africa’s finest XI will also be revealed on the night that will be attended by the crème de la crème of the continent’s football icons.

There are also two new categories; Goal of the Year and Save of the Year, to be decided by votes from the public.

Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure was decorated African Player of the Year for the third time at the last edition held on 9 January 2014 in Lagos, whilst former Ahly and Egypt talisman, Mohamed Aboutreika scooped the Player of the Year (Based in Africa).

This is the third time Lagos will be hosting the event after 2008 and 2013. Previous host cities include Abuja (2005), Accra (2006, 2009, 2011, 2012), Lome (2007) and Cairo (2010).

Nigerian telecommunication giants, Globacom has sponsored the annual awards Gala since 2005.
