Nvidia graphics card (512mb vram) backlight keyboard. , webcam 2.50 ghz

Please does this deal make sense coS his willing to gimme 20k untop ...

Doesn't change anything. But remember most games need hyper threaded processors. you can't compare a quad core processor i.e i5 to a core 2 duo with just 2 processors.

His system looks decent with the added dedicated video ram but that's not the only thing you need to consider for gaming. It would run the latest games eg. gta V without problems but that core 2 duo maybe a problem in future when new games come out which demand more procesing power except you are willig to upgrade it to a core 2 quad.

Nope. They are not change able if they are of different chasis.

The core i3 and i5 series have over a 1000 pins while the core 2 duo has 779 pins. So it won't fit in.

Just go on with the deal. Seems cool with the added money.
