Noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia) is found in tropical regions all over the world.
It is an evergreen plant native to Southeast Asia, but grows prolifically in areas such as Hawaii, India, Central America and Tahiti.
This irregular, egg-shaped super fruit, the size of a potato, has been used for up to 2,000 years by the traditional healers of Polynesia who consumed it as a super powerful beverage drink.
The leaves, stems, flowers and roots were also used as food in many areas of the Hawaiian islands.
Today the juice is available for use in beverages and juice blends in non-tropical regions of the world.
It is valued for its many unique health promoting components that are a well known treatment for skin conditions of all kinds as well as other benefits we will further discuss.

NONI BENEFIT FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT cheesy
A particular phytonutrient present in noni fruit is responsible for its ability to relieve pain in the body.
The active ingredient is called xeronine (zair o neen) and was discovered by Dr. Ralph Heinicke at the University of Hawaii in 1981.
Noni is packed with proxeronine, which is the precursor for xeronine.

"The role of xeronine is to order the protein in our body to fold into proper conformation to work correctly. " (Wang, 2002)
Xeronine converts certain brain receptor proteins which help in the absorption of endorphins and act as a natural painkiller, increasing endorphins in the body to numb pain and produce feelings of euphoria.
This pain relief effect was shown in a study of 10,000 patients who were given noni for a wide range of health issues, pain reduction was the result in 88% of the studied participants.

Xeronine is activated in the large intestine where it is absorbed by the cells of the body.
So it is therefore important to consume noni on an empty stomach to allow a clear pathway for this to occur. Proxeronase is the enzyme that converts proxeronine in the fruit to xeronine in the colon.

Noni Benefits to Health

Great for Skin Conditions
Noni is one of the best treatments for most types of skin conditions (as well as hair) when used both topically and taken internally.
In a study by the Journal of Medicinal Food in 2005 it was shown that noni increases the production of collagen and is good to use for the skin.
Containing the nutrient anthraquinone, noni juice or powdered extract was shown to be potentially useful as an anti-wrinkle agent when used internally or externally.

Noni Fruit Contains:
• selenium for skin health and elasticity
• scopoletin for anti-inflammatory effects
• xeronine for cell regeneration
• limonene and anthraquinones for antiseptic properties
• glyosides for free radical defense
• MSM for solvent action dissolving toxic deposits
