Gunmen on Saturday night
attacked and killed 10
residents of Tattaura Village
in Kaduna State.
Mike Maikarfi, a pastor, told
journalists on Sunday that
the victims were having a
post-Christmas celebration
when they were attacked. He
said four people also
sustained gunshot wounds.
The injured were rushed to a
hospital in Akwanga,
Nasarawa State, because it
was closer than rushing them
to Kafanchan in Kaduna, he
said.
“The attack took place at
10:12 p.m. while Christmas
celebration was going on in
the community,” the cleric
said.
He added that Tattaura is a
community in Ancha District
of Ninzo Chiefdom. It is two
kilometres east of Gwantu,
the headquarters of Sanga
Local Government Area.
“The attack took place in a
shop where some men were
relaxing. Tattaura community
celebrated their Christmas
yesterday night (Saturday)
with dances by youths,
children and adults,” he said.
He listed the names of those
killed as Joel Ambo, Yakubu
Ambi, Yamu Idzi, Anche
Ishaku, Misalai Ngbo, Ishaya
Anche, Monday Samson, Joel
Anzah, Jonathan Anche and
a young man popularly
known as P – Square.
As at the time of this report,
arrangements to hold a mass
burial were being held, while
sympathisers and relations
were still trooping to the
village.

Commissioner, Umar Shehu,
who confirmed the incident
said security agents have
been dispatched to the
village
