The rate at which some fellows harangue Mr Jonathan is disheartening. Remember that he is the president of your country and that he is not solely responsible for our woes.

Moreover, the world is watching.Belittling the person equates demeaning the office of the president, and by induction, us all as a nation before the world.

Mr Jonathan's presidency may be extirpated. But restoring the dignity of that office may be an uphill task for his successor.

It is regrettable that we,Africans keep portraying ourselves to the world as a backward people, incapable of ruling ourselves only to turn around and cry racism when they place us where we inadvertently placed ourselves.

Have you ever had immigration tell everyone ahead of you,"You are welcome, have a nice stay", and you, "what are you here for?", just because you're African.

We can't even campaign for an election with a sense of civility, nor conduct them without running amok. Yet we expect the world to respect and take us seriously.
