Controversial Nigerian televangelist and pastor of the Household of God Church International Ministries, Chris Okotie who one time claimed had a clear message from God to govern Nigeria appears to have ignored that divine message. His name was obviously missing from the list of presidential candidates for the 2015 elections released by INEC.


Okotie first ran for the President under the banner of the Justice Party (JP), led by Ralph Obiorah after he was schemed out of the National Democratic Party (NDP) primaries elections; he lost to Olusegun Obasanjo in the May 2003 elections. He ran again in 2007 on the platform of a party he founded, Fresh Democratic party, FRESH and lost to Umaru Yar’Adua in the May 2007 elections. In January 2014, Chris Okotie said he would contest the February 2015 election. It seams the man of God has heard another message from God. SPY Nigeria sent a message to Okotie’s camp but didn’t get a reply.

A source from the Household of God Church International Ministries said the tel-evagelist financial muscle has depreciated after the crises that surrounded his second divorce, citing inadequate funds as one of the reasons the man of God chickened out from the contest.
