Twenty-four kid cultists were also paraded by the state police command, along with the items used in initiating them.

The suspects in the death of the five children, Akeem Azeez and Rasheed Fatai, who were arrested at different locations in the state capital, were currently assisting the police in their investigations.

Azeez was paraded before journalists on Wednesday evening, but denied involvement in the incident.

The suspect admitted that Adewale had been his friend since 1996 and that he started as a butcher, before veering into commercial motorcycle business, popularly called okada, only to return to the meat business about three weeks ago.

Azzez also denied knowing Adewale's house, stressing that he only knew his former residence.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the command's Criminal Investigation Department, Mr. Sunday Anjorin, however, disclosed that Azeez was identified by the only survivor, Rashidat.

The kid cultists, consisted of four girls, whose ages range between 13 and 15, were arrested at Ido-Ekiti, headquarters of Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state.

Some of the cultists had been expelled from various secondary schools in connection with cult-related activities.

The boys had the marks of Eye Confraternity cult group on their arms, while the girls belonged to the Queen of White Angels. Three armed robbery suspects were also paraded by the command.

Meanwhile, the Action Congress in Ekiti State has accused security agencies of intimidation and oppression of its members, over the decision not to participate in the December 20 local government elections, since the State Independent Electoral Commission is yet to be properly connstituted.

Ekiti Chairman of the AC, Mr. Jide Awe, stated this at the command headquarters in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.
