Dear Nigerian Elites,
As I welcome you all to the year of 2015, may I seek your indulgence to deliver this short letter to you.

Over the decades since Independence, our nation, Nigeria has struggled to find its place in history. This quest is one that have led us through the thick and thins of challenges. All that historians have told us in written and oral history points to exactly on one direction - Leadership Challenge.

The inability for us to consistently have effective leadership at the helms of affairs in Nigeria have been one single obstacle that has hindered progress, development and growth to our nation. Our fellow citizens are suffering - portable running clean water, uninterrupted electricity, smooth motor-able roads, adequate shelter, security, quality education, proper feeding, etc are still luxury in our country and beyond the reach of many.

In the past especially, the last 16 years of Democratic rule in Nigeria, we are all living witnesses to the pains, joy and sufferings we have had to endure as citizens. While there have been many government efforts and programmes, the majority of our people are still suffering in abject poverty, despite the enormous natural and human resources God has blessed us with.

As the 2015 elections approaches, again we have the opportunity to elect the right leadership. We cannot in all honesty ignore the sway, influence and role of the Elites in Nigeria. By elites, I make reference to those currently in various leadership positions, religious, groups and community leaders, retired public office holders, Leaders of Thought, Nigerians in Diaspora, Nigerian Politicians, Parents, Experts of various Professions, the Nigerian Business Community, Private Sector Practitioners, etc.

In the past, our problems have been compounded by certain privileged Nigerian elites colluding to deprive Nigerian masses the opportunity of choosing who will lead them. Thereby leaving us with Leaders who are Hostages to few powerful cabals who they perpetually owe allegiance - to the detriment of the Nigerian masses.

I therefore call on the Nigerian elites to support the masses in voting for #Change this 2015. At the current administration's pace of development, we will not achieve any significant development because of the enormity of the Challenges currently facing Nigeria. Corruption must be halted for accelerated development in the nation and accountability for those in positions of authority.

Please put away greedy and personal interests and do this for the interest of Nigeria. And to atone for the years we have been deprived good governance. If Nigeria is good, it will positively affect everyone of us. We look forward to developed, new, proud and great Nigeria ahead for a Change.

Once again thank you for your time, support and patriotism to Nigeria. Welcome to a prosperous 2015. God bless you. God bless Nigeria.

Regards,
EGIFT of Nairaland

Change is a constant thing in nature, u don't need to vote for it, it must surely come but not from a particular political party. Evil men can not rule the land of the righteous forever. We are blessed with mineral resources that will never finish no matter how they try to finish it, because God that gave them to us is still willing to give more. It will still be there when the good guys will take over. Long live Nigeria!! Happy New Year!!
