President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said his administration’s strategy against corruption was to strengthen the capability of institutions to nip the menace in the bud.

He said his idea of anti-corruption war was not about arresting suspects and parading them on the television.

He admitted that the two main problems currently confronting the country were insecurity and corruption.

The President said his administration was making efforts to tackle the challenges.

He said, “There are two main problems confronting us as a nation: The issue of insecurity in the North where we have the Boko Haram terrorists and in the South where we have commercial kidnapping. The next thing that people worry about after security is the issue of corruption.

“We are coming out with programmes and plans to clean up. These are things that you don’t just use a magical wand to wave off, otherwise even before I became the President, there wouldn’t have been corruption in Nigeria.

“It is not just about shouting corruption. It is not about looking at one person, arrest the person and show him on television.

“It is about strengthening institutions and coming up with credible plans to make sure that anybody who gets involved with corruption, the system must have a way of detecting him and punishing him.

“Until you put such a system on ground, you cannot talk about eradicating corruption, you will just be celebrating corruption.”

The President proposed on National TV that Corruption is over exaggerated , that stealing is not Corruption.......He even went has far has saying, $20bn cannot be missing in Nigeria that The US would know because its their currency?.......Either the man trully means wat he is saying or he is seriously retarted
Daziani Madueke is still the petroleum minister after it was revealed under he watch NNPC refuse to remit $20bn to the federation acount. Stella odua the minister of aviation used $150million to illegally purchase bullet proof cars and she is stil walking free....There is so much that is wrong with this country but never in our history has prominent Nigerians been this bold to embezzle our National wealth.......With the long list of looting going on either the president is involved or He is seriously retarted.
i watched a video report of a Nigerian senator complaining before a senate commity about the decadence in Nigeria. He said it was so bad that people who denial it are either amongst those looting or foolish, he gave a story of the pension fraud going on were by old retired civil servant are been robbed of their pentions, His own father a retired chief justice was robbed of about 50% of his pention by people who in charge of the pension scheme. He finally said if him, a serving senators father can be affected by this, what do we think his happening to ordinary Nigerians?
I know Nigerians are very religious people when it comes to sins against God but what greater sin is their than embezzling the pension of old men who dedicated their youths to the service of their country?
