The Archbishop of Enugu Anglican Province and Bishop of Enugu, Most Rev. (Dr) Emmanuel Chukwuma, has called on the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria to summon immediately fiery Catholic priest, Revd Father Ejike Mbaka, and discipline him over his recent proclamation on President Goodluck Jonathan.

Father Mbaka had during the New Year service at his Adoration ground in Enugu declared that President Jonathan’s administration had brought bad luck to the country and urged him to quit even as he later raised the alarm that his life was under threat because of what he said.

But Archbishop Chukwuma told Daily Sun yesterday in Enugu that what Mbaka said about Jonathan was inflammatory and therefore, called on the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria to check him with a view to curbing his excesses. The archbishop said it was unfortunate that the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, had visited Mbaka’s Adoration ground, where he alleged she gave the priest N5 million and Mbaka eulogised the President, urging him (Jonathan) to continue in his good works without fear or favour only to turn back suddenly to make negative statements about him.

“What Mbaka had done is very much inflammatory and disgraceful against Mr. President. One, therefore, wonders if Fr. Mbaka was settled for him to change gear and we are calling on Mbaka to mention those religious leaders, whom he accused of going to Aso Rock to wine and dine with the President and therefore, could not speak the truth as he claimed. “Fr. Mbaka should declare to the world how much he has collected from the opposition for him to say all he said against Mr. President,” Chukwuma said.

I see no reason for all these up rising. Any citizen of Nigeria has the right to support/condem any presidential aspirant. Since Mbaka is speaking as a person and not for the catholic church, let them leave him alone. Not that am supporting MOGs mixing politics with religion.

I'm a Catholic. I am disappointed and utterly ashamed about the outbursts of such a respected man of God. He is a spiritual mentor to many Christians, he should focus on doing that. He must leave politics because it is a dirty game.

He should not forget that many Catholics that support GEJ also look up to him. What should this segment do? He is being manipulative. I don't like that.

The truth must be spoken to power.

If JonaTAN has delivered on the goodwill he rode on in 2011, I'm sure the pastors who openly.support him won't go back on their support.

They are just showing their disaapointment at the failure and stupidity of the man they anointed.

Anglican Bishop of Enugu passes the ball to Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria. Can they take the shot from outside of the 18 yard box? Oh no. They decide to pass the ball to Catholic Bishop of Enugu it seems he'll have a clear shot as he is within the 6 yard box. Can he take it.

The bolded... Not possible... Even if he is sanctioned, the only thing that might shake is his adoration ministry. Outside that, the church still continues... The only thing am against here is that let him not turn his adoration ground into a place of political talks. Not quite long, PEJ was there and Mbaka was showering praises to her and her husband... So wetin come happen.

Mbaka said that He asked Patience Jonathan to give him her number so that he can always send her messages but she declined.
The same day,Mbaka collected 5million naira from Patience Jonathan and Endorsed GEJ. APC later met him and gave him more money and his holy spirit turn back to endorse APC.
Perhaps why he wanted to collect the number from PEJ is such that he can always tell her the amount other political parties brought so she can give him more but that strategy failed and the so called man of God is today pro-APC.
