Buhari has held unto the anti-corruption mantra for a very long time that we have forgotten to test the reality and feasibility of his supposed plan to rid Nigeria of corruption. I would not dwell on the fact that he has not layered out any plan on the fight nor his romance with the very same corrupt entities with his party. All we know is that is he plans to send corrupt Nigerians to kirikiri despite telling us that his fight will not include probing into the past.

Unfortunately one of our biggest problem as a country is illiteracy. If not that majority of Nigerians are illiterates, we would have been asking the right questions and how Buhari intends to jail corrupt Nigerians.

Which jail can accommodate all corrupt Nigerians knowing that an average Nigerian is corrupt?
Which non-corrupt judge will prosecute the corrupt Nigerians? Is it this same extremely corrupt judiciary that will fight corruption? Would Buhari double as the president and Judge at the same time?

How do you stop the rich but corrupt elites from paying their way through the courts?

Where do you find the non-corrupt law enforcement agents that will implement the law to the letter?

How does he plan to prosecute his party men when the looted funds can be traced to his campaign?

To what end has such previous fights against corruption been effective? Has the proposed mode of fight against corruption ever been effective?

Even under military where the presidency has ultimate powers, To what end did the fight against corruption go? Did it end corruption?

The bare truth is that this proposed mode of fight against corruption can never work under our democracy .... Never!!!. It can only make corruption more sophisticated.

The only solution is the systematic way GEJ have dealt with corruption. The E-wallet system eliminated the fertilizer scam, the biometric registration eliminated the ghost worker scam and saved over 50bn per annum, the pension reform have put to end the age long pension scam. More needs to be done

By the time subsidy on refined product is removed and crude sold to local refineries at reduced prices.... The subsidy corruption will be eliminated.

Nigerians need to push the state governors to sign the freedom of information bill, with that allocations to state will be on a live e-site and expenditures on such funds can be updated live. Nigerians will have the opportunity to make comparisons across the spend patterns across different states.

Nigerians need to wake up and stop playing illiterates. We need to start thinking beyond our noses. There is no short term fix to the many issues bedeviling Nigeria but systematic and strategic policies are the way out.

This is the only way out of corruption. Anybody who tells you he will fight corruption..... Ask him how and test the feasibility.

Very apt write-up.
No better reality than what you just stated. Unfortunately, Nigerians are ill-informed and always seeking immediate gains. Otherwise these are very obvious points that every right thinking Nigerian will reason along the lines.

Again...... Spot on.

If only Nigeria will stop falling for very cheap propaganda. We have become a country of complainants who have no plan for the future.

We dont even know what we want... always looking for quick fix which is non-existent. Yet we complain just about anybody and anything except ourselves.

Most painfully. ... We just don't think!!!!!!

Nigerians want GEJ to do what OBJ did by sending EFCC at the back of anyone that disobeyed his orders. To pull down those that has bright political future and muzle everyother person into fearful corner... This is what fighting curroption means to many Nigerians... It is a pity.

GEJ is systematically eliminating activities that encourage corrupt practices.

Beating a child for taking food from your neighbour without giving that child enough food &teaching the child the implications wont stop that child from doing it when next he is hungry.

I think GEJ is doing so much just that no one can tell how beautiful a house will look when it is still on the DPC level...

If GOD wills & allows GEJ back at Aso Rock this May, Nigerians will be happy and thankful to GOD for what HE will use GEJ to achieve...

Strong systems and not personality , reduce corruption

Jesus and Judas is a clear example

Paul and the Church another example.

Thanks OP for hammering on my point to those who care to listen with open mind.

Politician Buhari is a complete opposite of military Buhari. The environments, military and democracy, are entirely different. Presently, politician Buhari's campaign is being funded by corrupt politicians who have not paid the salary of their workers for months yet Buhari has not said anything about that. What moral justification has politician Buhari to confront them?

Academically, Buhari is a mismatch for this generation. Buhari belongs to the old school of "let my people go" military.

Politician Buhari's campaign mantra of fighting corruption is a complete deceit. I pity those who will fall for the trap. Buhari is already enmeshed and immersed in corruption.

GEJ remains the better option.

It is not d likes of buhari that can fight corruption under democratic setting. Is he going to command judges and lawyers to jail corrupt persons who knows how to maneouvre their ways through court cases,or has he forgotten that lawyers and judges are brothers in corruption too.Let buhari know that judges and lawyers must chop too, they will adjorn cases sin die while culprit will be on bail. What else can you do.Ask obj,ask Jonathan, all corrupt cases since Abacha time are still being prosecuted in court, ask also the DG due process, who still has 7 years unfinished case,in court, and skwed in court to free the culprit.Fighting corruption through jail and crating a buhari way in modern day is rubbish, can't work stop deceiving nigerans except you are clueless

Dat Buhari of a person has been saying things like Nigeria is a classroom politics.

At least, reasonable pple propose solutions when they criticise but not in the case of APC. All they do is criticise. They don't even believe there is anything good from the sitting president. Making statements like they are perfect and will perfect everything if elected. Nonsense. U wanna change us from our better situation to unbearable one. God dey.
