The Buhari Nigerians don't know..

I know to the average Nigerian youth out there, the name Buhari falls into the old category of past military dictators but there were things our parents failed to tell us about... We were never aware that the Buhari/Idiagbon regime remains the most corruption free and the best administration Nigeria ever had..

Despite being a military then , no Nigerian leader till date both military and civilian has been able to match his set records.

Antecedence of individuals is very important in human history, therefore General M. Buhari's antecedence speak for itself. Whenever the history of corporate Nigeria is written and will be written, General Mohammadu Buhari's contribution will be written in Gold!!!

Buhari held the following positions in this country:

1. Governor of North-Eastern State of Nigeria (August 1975 – March 1976)
2. Minister For Petroleum and Natural Resources (March 1976- June 1978)
3. Chairman Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (June 1978- July 1978)
4. 7th Head of State of Nigeria (Dec 31,1983- August 27, 1985)
5. Chairman PTF(Mid 1994- July 1999)

The whole truth is that General Mohammadu Buhari is light years way ahead and above his peers just as he is shoulders high above them in height.
General Buhari so far has been the ONLY former Head of State that can wag his tail and walk freely in Nigeria without looking over his shoulders.

Some of his Achievements:

1. -His administration initiated a public campaign against indiscipline known as "War Against Indiscipline (WAI)" when he realized the civilian government he took over from as head of states was HOPELESSLY CORRUPT.
The campaign is still lauded by many to have instilled the most orderly conduct of public and private affairs in Nigeria since its independence in 1960

2 In his time as head of state he reduced inflation from 23% to 4%, by fiscal discipline and a homegrown economic team (not achieved under any other era both civilian and military).

3 He supervised and birthed our only existing refineries (1976-1978)

4 What he did in road construction while in the PTF hasn't been matched by 12yrs of the PDP.

5 The hospitals and universities around the country never witnessed as much benefits they got from the PTF from any government after or before his time.

6. The Buhari regime rebuffed all entreaties by IMF and World Bank to devalue the naira, remove subsidies on services and increase pump price on fuel..

7. The Nigerian Naira was exchanged between 0.724 -0.894 to 1 Us Dollar during Buhari's regime (1983-1985 ). Imagine our Naira was more than the dollars just 26 years ago http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_naira

Despite holding these public offices, check these out:

a. While former leaders came to line their pockets with the national wealth, promote themselves to Generals of fortune and above all name some important streets and edifices and towns in Nigeria after themselves and their wives and children, it was not so with General Buhari, he was driven by patriotic zeal to serve Nigeria, even after being the Head of State for 20 months, he never promoted himself to a four-star general like others who came before or after him. Its also important to note that he did not create the office of First Lady, which others did as a means to steal the national and common wealth.

b. Buhari presently has TWO houses, one owned by his father and one he built with his pension

c. He has NO house or land in Abuja

d. No property or savings abroad

e. He has 2 cars (one belongs to his wife)

f. He has NO oil wells, no petrol station.

g. His asset is worth about 5million (compared to 750 million declared by GEJ)

h Buhari and Nelson Mandela Barack were the only private African individuals invited
to the white house during president Barrack Obama’s Inauguration why?
because they are men of integrity..

i. Above all, he is not associated with corruption of any form or sort.

NOW, TELL ME. Is it not the kind of leader Nigeria need at present? The corrupt will say "No"! While the upright will say "Yes"..

It is not just the elders telling lies.

There is a lot of tribalism around and some of the SE and SS youth themselves also have moral inferiority complex about Buhari. They see an excellence and integrity they have thought themselves incapable of and would rather embrace the corruption and cluelessness of Jonathan because he makes them feel good with themselves. Some can't even relate to it because they are in the business world and have never seen the effect or importance of government

There is also the lies and scare mongery from the vocal minority in the east about the north and its Islamising agenda which is hogwash but to a landlocked underexposed SE and SS youth that is all he know as truth.

The campaign is still lauded by many to have instilled the most orderly conduct of public and private affairs in Nigeria since its independence in 1960.

Buhari reeks of double standards ... He took over from a state that was hopelessly corrupt put the President under house arrest and sent his deputy to krikiri .... His fight against corruption was fraught by nepotisim turning a blind eye to those in the military and people from his region while using those from the other region as scape goats.

He silenced the press, brutally dealt with people who do not share his views.

2 In his time as head of state he reduced inflation from 23% to 4%, by fiscal discipline and a homegrown economic team (not achieved under any other era both civilian and military).

Get your facts right he reduced Inflation from 23% to 3.21% and within 20months and took it back up to 40.9% .

3 He supervised and birthed our only existing refineries (1976-1978)

Stop lying... he did not birth anything ... the plan for the refineries have already been in place since . He merely signed the papers.

Do you in your heart think that Warri refinery was initiated, planned and built within one year (1977 to 1978)?

It is on record that GMB initiated nothing, he only signed contract as NNPC chairman as the decision to build the 2 refineries was initiated in 1974 when Buhari was nowhere in the government. Here is extracts from NNPC website:

“REFINERY PROJECT DECISION
The decision to construct the third Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) refinery in Kaduna was taken in 1974 along with that of the second NNPC refinery located at Warri. However, it was decided that work would commence on the construction of the third refinery whenever the projection of the consumption of petroleum products justifies it.
By early 1975, in view of the fuel shortages experienced then, the Federal Government decided that work on the third refinery should be advanced. It was envisaged that the refinery was to be a simple hydro skimming type refinery in order to meet up with the fuel demand then”
http://www.nnpcgroup.com/nnpcbusiness/subsidiaries/krpc.aspx

Conclusion
Buhari neither cleared Nigeria’s debt nor initiated any refinery in Nigeria.

4 What he did in road construction while in the PTF hasn't been matched by 12yrs of the PDP.

5 The hospitals and universities around the country never witnessed as much benefits they got from the PTF from any government after or before his time.

General Buhari, you were in power for 20 months, how many universities did you build ? GEJ built 9 in his first 20 months!

General Buhari, you were in power for 20 months, how many trains did you put on our railway?GEJ put several in his 1st 20 months

General Buhari, you were in power for 20 months, how many power stations did you complete? GEJ completed 2 in his first 20 months!

General Buhari, you were in power for 20 months, how many newspapers did you close down? GEJ has not closed down one in 5 years!

Gen Buhari, you were in power for 20 months, how many youths did you give scholarship? GEJ gave over a 100 in his first 20 months

General Buhari, you were in power for 20 months, which youth did you appoint in your govt? GEJ appointed a 33 year old minister

General Buhari, you were in power for 20 months, how many women made your cabinet? GEJ appointed 10 women in his first 20 months

In 20th months of GEJ ruler-ship he achieved way more that Buhari can even dream of.

6. The Buhari regime rebuffed all entreaties by IMF and World Bank to devalue the naira, remove subsidies on services and increase pump price on fuel..

When Buhari took over in 1983, the Naira was exchanging for N 0.724 to a dollar, by the time he left office, the Naira was exchanging at between N1.5 to 1.7 in the parallel market. We will make use of the N1.5 exchange rate.
From 1983 to 1985, the Naira moved from 0.724 to 1.5 representing a 107% depreciation of the Naira!

The question therefore, with 107% depreciation of naira from 1983 to 1985, how stable was the naira under Buhari?

The fall of the naira is as a result of the accumulative impact of bad governance and the fact that we depend heavily on oil. GEJ has started fixing that Now.

Do you know that Nigeria now make cars, Our agricultural sector is receiving heavy boost, our technology sector is growing. Their is more hope for the future. Soon Nigerians would simile. Our economy is on a journey towards diversification under GEJ

How can a man who prides himself as been a pauper for the past 30 years change this nation's economic state ... He is even proud to let us know that the least he has in his account is a million naira.

A former president for that matter. What does that say about his economic sense
This same man in the past 30 years has never contributed in any way to the progress of this nation either in ideas or in enterprise. How can man who in the last 30 years has not been able to change his own condition and grow economically ... change Nigeria a nation of over 200million people from poverty to riches.

[/b] He has no track record of causing economic change in his life, in a company or the last time he ruled and you expect me to believe he would change Nigeria.

Buhari says he will fight corruption if he gets power. General, in your party, look to your left and your right. What do you see?

Buhari according to him Abacha is not corrupt. Do you know what this means.

A man that who can not differentiate or tell when someone is corrupt is the same person, who thinks he would be able to fight corruption.

Under buhari you would have the illusion of the fight against corruption, Buhari would give Nigerians the drama they want using political enemies as scape goats, while under your nose dangerous deals will be made and high level corruption will still take place undercover. Why do I say this the same set of people who took Nigeria to where it is today are the same people behind his election bid.

The fact that he is very clueless to even comprehend or detect corruption will make matters worse. APC with her powerful propagada mechinarey will make it a point of duty to hide corruption activity. Have you asked your self why APC states are yet to accept the Freedom of information bill.

Like I asked earlier ... who would you vote for?
A man who they say he is corrupt with no solid proof to a man who tells you he is a saint while his friends are crooks.

I don't know what all the noise is about. Going by GMB's actions after overthrowing Shagari's government, the SW has more than enough reasons not to vote for GMB, all the SW politicians were either jailed on sent on house arrest but they seem to overcome that and moved on.

I am not a huge fan of Buhari but given a choice between him and GEJ, I'd have to been completely nuts to choose GEJ.

@ MathewBriggs,

Buhari did say Abacha was not corrupt but goofluck said stealing is not corruption and followed that in action by pardoning an indicted criminal (Alamesigha and called our bluff while at it).

Buhari should really be ashamed to boast of a paltry million naira in his account but GEJ declared 750 million in 2007, to this day we are yet to know the source of this huge wealth unless of course he's been earning millions legitimately every year since he became deputy governor. But then again stealing is not corruption which is why we don't know his current net worth because he told us he didn't give a damn when we asked.

Yes, Buhari merely signed the papers for the refineries but you forgot to mention that he saw the plan to fruition, unlike your man who made countless plans but all we still have are the echoes of those words, just in case you forgot, 2nd Niger Brigde, an airport in every state, a new refinery, uninterrupted power supply etc....

Yes, GEJ did so much in 20 months but you forgot to mention that the Excess crude account went from $9B to $3B while foreign reserves has gone down to $34B from over $60B!

Yes Buhari jailed many of the second republic politicians and showed preferential treatment but under GEJ, Farouk Lawan, Bode George, Maina, Tompolo, Asari Dokubo, the subsidy thieves are free men despite stealing our collective wealth.

Even if you people do not fear God, we should think about what kind of future our children will have.

I would go for a man who thinks stealing is not corruption (which he is right by the way depending on the context you use) than a man who cannot sniff corruption even if it is staring him in the face. To the extent he thinks Abacha is not corrupt.

I would go a man who was able to take himself from been a man with no shoes to a man whose life has changed for the better. I would go for a man who has been able to change his economic story and in doing so has never been indicted by any court of law for corruption.

I would go for GEJ instead of a man who after 30 years still has the same 140 cows, Is still poor and right now dines and mingles with thieves, crooks and people who are responsible for putting Nigeria where she is currently. And still has the effrontery to tell me he would fight corruption.

You forgot to mention that GEJ met DEAD railways! He not only initiated he revived Lagos-Kano in 2011 and PH-Enugu Lagosians now ride air conditioned trains!

You forgot to mention that under GEJ Nigeria now produces power at the highest level at almost 4,500MW

You forgot to mention that under GEJ our power sector has been successfully been privatized.

You forgot to mention that Work on the 2nd niger bridge has started.

You for to mention that in his first 20 months built 9 universities and 50 Almajiri schools including the only Federal Universities in Jigawa, Katsina, Gombe, Nasarawa, Kogi, Ekiti, Taraba, Yobe, Kebbi and Zamfara!.

He may not have finished all his plans but the fact is that GEJ is working

Even if you people do not fear God, we should think about what kind of future our children will have.

This president is the first Nigerian president to grant complete independence to the EFCC ... It is upto effcc to do their job. He is also the one responsible for signing into law the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT ... that is why you can know more about what is happening in the government now than ever. That is why you can sit in your laptop and ask questions.

Have you asked your self why APC states have refused to accept this bill ... because if they do you would discover that the high level of nepotism, corruption and crime there is even much worse. Have you asked them why ... all you shout is GEJ is corrupt... SMH

I would rather vote for a man who I can see the unclothedness of his government and criticize his mistakes... than a man who wants to prevent me from knowing the truth and therefore goes on to silence the press so as to keep me in the dark and make me be under the illusion that his government is perfect.

I would vote a president who wants me to see his mistakes than a government who would do anything to hide their mistakes so as to make me think they are saints.

Oh! I like how he went from being shoe-less to stupendous wealth, if only he'd tell us how? Why is that too hard to do? Is he afraid we will replicate his method and take the shine away from him for working so hard?! You are are right, stealing is not corruption, after all Alamesigha only stole from the good people of Bayelsa by virtue of his office, he was not corrupt at all. $9B to -$20B (-$11B) vs. $60+B to $34B and $9B to $3B (-$32B), even if in nominal terms you are right GEJ is less of a prodigal president after all we still have a positive balance undecided

FOI bill, yes I don't like the fact that many Nigerian states have not adopted the bill but you have to quit lying that only APC states are culpable, unlike many of you here, I criticise those APC politicians as much as I do PDP.

It is a pity your mind have been brainwashed by the efficient media propaganda arm of the same set of people who took Nigeria to where it is today. Stealing is not corruption depending on the context that word is used. ... That does not means I support him spewing that statement.

You know why I laugh at your argument so far ... You focus so far has been on discrediting GEJ, instead of answering the statements I made about your man of Change. While I have been answering your questions and exposing the fallacy and the mirage your god buhari is.

You know they are the truth and you have not be able to come up with a better defense.

I repeat would rather vote for a man who says stealing is corruption ... a statement that depending on the context his is right. Than a man who can't sinff out corruption even if it hits him in the face ... case in point is him saying almighty Abacha is not corrupt even after billions of naira he stole has been discovered.

I repeat I would rather vote for a man who lets me know more about what is happening inside his government than a man who would go to any length to hide the truth from me even if it means banning the freedom of the press.

I would vote for a man who turned his life around from shoeless to a man with many shoes ... to a man who tells me he can change my life and that of 200millin nigerians while for the past 30 years he has not been able to change his own life.

No matter what you say about Buhari some people have just learned to hate him! I wish the veil on there eyes should be opened, cos I still find it difficult why some pple will still support a man who has put us in perpetual orgy. Buhari for change!

C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S!!! BUHARI: Promises Scholarship and
Free School Meal. In the year 1984, Maj General Buhari overthrew Alhaji
Shehu Shagari's civilian government and instructed that the Scholarship
programme in Nigerian Universities and the Free Meal scheme in our
Universities should be stopped with immediate effect. Nigerian
Undergraduates were then living in Paradise on campus, until an illiterate
soldier, who has just a Primary school certificate stopped their scholarship,
Bursary and free meal. For some Nigerians youths that are under 35 years,
you may be ignorant of this and better information about the man Buhari, that
is why some of you ignorantly support the retrogressive politician, who has
nothing good to be remembered for in his about 39 years of public life.
Stupidity is when you believe that Muhammadu Buhari who introduced
school
fees in our Universities in 1984 and stopped Undergraduates in the same
year,
promising to give Scholarship and Free meals in 2015 when the number of
Nigerian students has increased by nearly 700%. Lagos state Government
operated this same Buhari's policy when when they promised free education
and after winning election they increased school fees from N25,000 to
N250,000 and N375,000. APC, the party of Lai Mohammed are used to saying
one thing and doing a different thing. Nigerians are still expecting Buhari's
School certificate.... Hope For Nigeria.

Au contraire my friend, I never said Buhari didn't do any of those things, you on the other hand are the one trying to paint GEJ as some saint. Put a wheelbarrow pushing hustler in GEJ's job and see if he will not turn his life around. You need to stop peddling his becoming an 'overnight' millionaire as some kind of achievement! Isn't that the reason why Nigeria has lost $300B to corrupt public office holders?

No I did not try to paint GEJ as some saint. I basically countered the lies peddled by the OP. Just like you and me. GEJ is an imperfect man who is on a journey toward perfection.

Has GEJ been indicted of any corrupt act. Yes or No. There you have your answer.

Far from it ... I do not see his transformation from a man with no shoe to a man with many shoe as an achievement ...

Securing investment commitments worth 4.89 Trillion Naira for Nigeria is an achievement
Taking our non-oil exports from 2.3 billion in 2010 to 2.97 billion by the end of 2013, is an achievement.
Reducing the nation's food imports by over 40% as of 2013, moving the country closer to self sufficiency in agriculture is an achievement.

You talk about corrupt public office holders I hope those corrupt office holders include those who are parading themselves as Change and have put forward buhari to go and represent them.

Get your facts right he reduced Inflation from 23% to 3.21% and within 20months and took it back up to 40.9% .

I feel like I know you ... LOL. Debating with you sounds familiar .. not with this moniker dou.

I am not shifting goal post.

Yes my statement in that context is an achievement. Pay attention to the word context. The context in this case is me comparing him to Buhari who could not even better his own life after smelling the same post. Who says you have to be corrupt to succeed.

So you thinking I shifted my goal post was me trying to bring to your knowledge my own real understanding of the word achievement ... Achievements is not defined by how the president changes from grass to grace but how well he changes the state of his citizen. This fact is what my last response to seeks to achieve. cheesy cheesy cheesy

To give you credit ... Even tho you want buhari to win, you have been able to admit he has his fault unlike majority who see him as a god who can do no wrong, that is laudable. You are indeed different and not a fanatic.
