President Jonathan lied: Record shows Nigeria’s arms purchase by Buhari/Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan at the flag-off of his re-election rally in Lagos on Thursday challenged his opponent and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammdau Buhari, to explain to Nigerians how he spent his Defence budget while he served as the nation’s Head of State.

He alleged that not a single rifle was purchased by Buhari.

“He did not buy a single rifle”, he announced, referring to Gen Buhari while he served as a military Head State, lamenting that Nigeria “had great soldiers but who had no arms”.

“Ask him, when he was the head of government, did he buy one rifle for the Nigerian military? They refused to equip the military. Ask them what they did with their defence budget that they did not equip the military.

However, database record obtained from the Stockholm International Peace Institute indicates that the quantity of military hardware purchased during Buhari’s tenure triples that of Jonathan.

Also, another source, photius.com said “During 1983-87, Nigeria imported military materials valued at US$1.5 billion from about ten major suppliers–more than any other African state.”

To further expose the president, the document obtained from the website of the institute shows that the country purchased more arms and ammunition in the regime of General Muhammadu Buhari than all the other governments put together.

With the level of unintelligent statements that the fisherman has been spewing in the last one week, I can now understand why he chooses to keep quiet on many issues until someone writes what to say for him.

His Ken is abysmal.!!!!
