The Nigerian ​S​enate has urged the federal government to intensify efforts in rescuing ​more than 200 school girls abducted by Boko Haram more than nine months ago.

This was stated by the Senate President, David Mark, while reading his welcome address at the plenary meeting on Tuesday.

Mr. Mark urged Nigerian citizens to get involved in ending the spate of violence and insecurity irrespective of political affiliation. He said the insecurity issues must be put to a stop as soon as possible.
