Some Aspirants Not Qualified To Run For Election – Aliyu by okiezman(m): 8:23am On Jan 15, 2015
Governor of Niger state, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has expressed displeasure over the desperation of some politicians to return to power at all cost not minding their past antecedents, which glaringly makes them less acceptable to the generality of Nigerians.

Eligible voters in the February general election has been challenged to be conscious of the people who solicit for their votes because of past records they left behind, as they could repeat same traits that have had negative consequences on the country and her citizenry.

Such people, the governor observed, are not in the election because they have anything to offer Nigerians by way of service delivery but for self enrichment in their erroneous belief that politics is all about money and the fastest way to becoming rich.
Aliyu spoke on Tuesday when he received, on a courtesy call, the leadership of Igbo community, led by Eze Ndigbo of Minna, Ngozi Pampas Wahiwe, Angas community in the state capital, led by Bitrus Simon and as well, members of the International Republican Institute of the United States of America.

The category of politicians whom Aliyu, however, did not mention their names “should rather bury their heads in shame for not utilising the opportunity they had in the past instead of going to the electorates to seek for votes.”

While challenging voters in next month’s election to be wary of those they will cast their votes for because of the past antecedents, Aliyu said: ‘We are not prepared; we need an equitable society, some people are not supposed to be running for public office because of their past.

“Many candidates are also contesting the 2015 general elections because they see politics as the easiest way to make money,” insisting that: “if you want to be rich, go to the market to do business not to seek public office which is for service to the people.”
